At the state assembly, delegates backed a legal push to stop Republican ballots from going out to unaffiliated voters. The order would have federal agencies assemble a nationwide list of verified U.S. citizens and share it with state election officials. States could then choose to send their own voter lists to the U.S. Postal Service about 60 days before an election. If they do, ballots would be limited to the names on those lists. RNC. By Andrew Rice | Just the News (The Center Square) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday will hear arguments in a consequential case to determine at what point states can accept and count mail-in ballots. The case, Watson v. RNC, challenges a Mississippi law that allows mail-in ballots to be received up to five days after Election Day, as long as the ballot is postmarked by Election Day. Fourteen states and the District of Columbia also allow mail-in ballots to be received after Election Day.
