Greg Lopez calls for Republican unity as path to turn Colorado red

PUEBLO -- The high stakes of potentially losing the slimmest of margins in the U.S. House of Representatives could be in play if the Colorado Republican Party does not unify, Greg Lopez told delegates today as he addressed the party's assembly here.
"It's vital we stand together and make sure we win the election," Lopez said.
Various resignations in the House have trimmed the Republican margin to one vote and could put Republican Speakership in jeopardy.
He will appear as the Republican nominee in June on the special election ballot for the 4th District. Some have called it a placeholder election to serve six months in Congress, finishing ex-U.S. Rep. Ken Buck's unexpired term. Lopez will be opposed in the special election by a Democra...
