Purnell: Four years after ‘laptop from hell’ coverup, media election interference is worse than ever

By Elle Purnell | Commentary, The Federalist Four years ago this week, the corporate press helped airlift Joe Biden to the White House by blacking out coverage of his international pay-for-play scandal, after the New York Post discovered evidence of the scandal on an abandoned Biden laptop. The press reaction ranged from refusing entirely to cover the story because it was a “waste of time” to only covering it insofar as outlets could cast doubt on its legitimacy. After the election, polling would show that 1 in 6 Biden voters would have changed their vote had they known about some of the stories suppressed by the media, including the Hunter Biden laptop story. It was the most infamous, though not the only, instance of journalists interferi...

Hunter Biden says he pleaded guilty in $1.4M tax evasion case to ‘spare’ family from ‘embarrassment’

By Paul Bois | New York Post Hunter Biden pleaded guilty in his tax evasion case to “spare” his family from the “needless embarrassment” of having to go through a second trial — and endure even more evidence of his seedy behavior while hooked on drugs. The twice-convicted first son shocked a Los Angeles courtroom Thursday when he unexpectedly copped to an entire tax evasion case, which could land him behind bars for up to 17 years, as jury selection was about to start. “I will not subject my family to more pain, more invasions of privacy and needless embarrassment,” President Biden’s son said in a statement Thursday. “For all I have put them through over the years, I can spare them this, and so I have decided to plead guilty.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK ...

Boyd: Hunter wants his dad in power because the Presidency profits and protects the Bidens

By JORDAN BOYD | The Federalist Hunter Biden desperately wants his father to stay in the 2024 presidential race — but not for the reasons the corporate media suggest. Shortly after President Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance, The New York Times was quick to amplify the entire Biden family’s support for their suddenly scrutinized patriarch’s 2024 presidential run. “One of the strongest voices imploring Mr. Biden to resist pressure to drop out was his son Hunter Biden, whom the president has long leaned on for advice, said one of the people informed about the discussions, who, like others, spoke on condition of anonymity to share internal deliberations,” the Times wrote. The outlet framed Hunter’s concern for his dad’s political future at a recent Camp Davi...

Hunter Biden found guilty on all counts by Delaware jury in gun trial

By JEFF MORDOCK | The Washington Times A federal jury convicted Hunter Biden Tuesday of three felony counts stemming from the purchase of a gun in October 2018 while in the throes of a crack addiction, making him the first child of a sitting president to be convicted of a crime. The panel of six men and six women, all Delaware residents, deliberated for three hours over two days before rendering the guilty verdict which could have political implications for President Biden. Republicans have sought to tie his son’s legal problems to him in the midst of a tough reelection campaign against former President Donald Trump. The defendant’s wife Melissa and his uncle, James Biden, were in the courtroom when the verdict was announced. First lady Jill Biden, who attended most of the weeklon...

Hunter Biden won’t testify, defense rests in federal gun trial

By JEFF MORDOCK | The Washington Times Hunter Biden decided not to testify Monday in his federal gun trial, moving the case closer to the jury that will decide whether the president’s son is guilty of lying about his drug addiction when he purchased the firearm. Defense lawyer Abbe Lowell told the court that the defense rests, one week after the trial began. Prosecutors are calling one rebuttal witness before closing arguments will begin. Defense attorneys rested their case after calling three witnesses over a span of roughly three hours, including Naomi Biden, the daughter of Hunter Biden and the president’s granddaughter. The other two witnesses were employees of the store where Hunter Biden purchased a Colt Revolver in October 2018. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE WASHINGTON TIME...

Hunter Biden was using drugs around the time he bought a gun, ex-partner and sister-in-law Hallie says

bY BEN FEUERHERD and BETSY WOODRUFF SWAN | Politico  Hunter Biden’s sister-in-law and former romantic partner, Hallie Biden, took the stand at his trial on gun-related charges Thursday and told jurors she believed he was using crack cocaine around the time he bought a pistol in the fall of 2018. Federal prosecutors asked Hallie about a series of text messages she exchanged with Hunter in the days after he bought a Colt revolver on Oct. 12, 2018. In the texts, Hunter said he was “waiting for a dealer named Mookie” and said he was “sleeping on a car smoking crack.” The texts, along with Hallie’s testimony, are pivotal evidence as prosecutors try to prove that Hunter was an active drug user when he purchased the firearm. Special counsel David Weiss has charged the president’s son ...

Ex-girlfriend testifies Hunter Biden smoked crack ‘every 20 minutes’

By Jeff Mordock | The Washington Times A former girlfriend of Hunter Biden who met him while working as a stripper testified Wednesday that the president’s son smoked crack cocaine “every 20 minutes” and gave drug dealers the access code to his bank account to supply his addiction.  Zoe Kestan told the court that she met Hunter Biden while she was working part-time at a gentleman’s club in New York in December 2017. She detailed their drug-fueled relationship for a federal jury, saying Hunter Biden failed at several attempts to get sober, including an experiment with frog venom. She testified that Hunter Biden “would want to smoke crack as soon as he woke up.” Ms. Kestan was a key witness for the prosecution on the second day of testimony in the federal criminal gun trial ...

Prosecutors shared a text message exchange from October 13, 2018 that featured Biden sending a message to Hallie Biden indicating that he was "waiting for a dealer named Mookie." Opening statements expected today in Hunter Biden federal gun trial

By ELLA LEE AND ZACH SCHONFELD  | The Hill Twelve jurors and four alternates were selected in the first of what could be two federal criminal trials involving Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, according to The Associated Press.  The panel of Delaware residents was selected after just one day, where prospective jurors were questioned over their views on gun rights, political prosecutions and whether the defendant’s father could influence their ability to be fair and impartial.  Hunter Biden will stand trial on federal gun charges involving his purchase of a firearm in 2018. Federal prosecutors contend the president’s son made false statements regarding his use of illegal drugs when obtaining the gun and then unlawfully possessed it for 11 days.   He has pleaded...
