Is the migrant flow slowing? Denver claims it hasn’t received a bus from Texas since June 11

By Shirleen Guerra | The Center Square In January, the city of Denver called its migrant crisis "unsustainable" due to the constant arrival of noncitizens. However, the city said this week that it hasn't received a bus of newly arriving migrants since June 11.  A new report shows that charter bus arrivals in Denver with migrants sent from Texas have dropped off significantly. Denver is seeing a significant drop in charter buses arriving from the southern border, reporting no new buses coming in since June, according to documents from the Aug. 20, 2024, Newcomer program update. Taxpayers are annually on the hook for $3 billion in food stamps for noncitizens

By Tom Gantert | The Center Square Every year, the United States has allowed between 1.47 million to 1.86 million noncitizens to receive food stamps from the federal government at a taxpayer cost of almost $3 billion a year. That is according to annual reports from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for its Supplement Nutritional Assistance Program. “Only U.S. citizens and certain lawfully present non-citizens may receive SNAP benefits,” said Hal Sullivan, spokesperson for the USDA in an email to The Center Square. “SNAP is not and has never been available to undocumented non-citizens. Non-citizens like tourists and students are generally not eligible. Non-citizens who are eligible based on their immigration status must meet SNAP eligibility requirements, such as income and resour...

UAW president accuses Republicans of ‘manufacturing’ border crisis, says ‘it’s a joke’

By Fox News United Automobile Workers President Shawn Fain on Tuesday called the ongoing crisis at the southern border a "manufactured crisis" as he accused Republicans of not having read their Bibles in their approach to illegal immigration. "It's a joke. I think it's a manufactured crisis," he said at a roundtable in Chicago, the day after he spoke at the Democratic National Convention. He talked about how people who have had a roof fitted will have had workers who are in the country illegally, and said they are not taking people's jobs. READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

‘Reject any funding for President Trump’s border wall’: In 2018, Harris led Dems in call to reject Border Patrol, ICE funding

By Julia Johnson | Fox News Vice President Kamala Harris previously led a group of Democratic senators in calling for a reduction in funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and to reject appropriations entirely for additional Border Patrol agents and border wall construction. In 2018, then-Sen. Harris and her fellow Democratic members of the Senate Judiciary Committee led several other Democrats in a letter to Senate appropriators. "We urge the Committee additionally to reject President Trump’s proposal for funding to hire new Border Patrol personnel at this time," they wrote. Another signatory of the document pushing back on President Trump's administration and its request for funding in fiscal year 2019 was vulnerable Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin of...

Memo: There is ‘no question’ Kamala Harris was tasked with serving as ‘Border Czar’

By Virginia Allen | The Daily Signal Every member of the House and Senate received a memo on Thursday detailing Vice President Kamala Harris’ record on border and immigration policy.  “There is no question that President [Joe] Biden tasked Kamala Harris with ‘securing the border,’ and there is no doubt that she has FAILED to secure the border and keep the American people safe,” Advancing American Freedom tells lawmakers in the one-page memo.  Despite claims that Harris was never named the “border czar,” Advancing American Freedom, a conservative policy organization, aims to prove otherwise, citing Biden’s announcement on March 24, 2021, that Harris will “lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle” of Central America. ‘Never’ Harris: Border Patrol agents on Kamala and that she is ‘probably worse than Biden’

By Anna Giaritelli | Washington Examiner Border Patrol agents expressed more distrust of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris than President Joe Biden and said they will not vote for her in November in interviews with the Washington Examiner. None of the more than a dozen Border Patrol agents questioned by the Washington Examiner said they would cast a ballot for Harris because they do not view her as supportive of the organization and its congressionally mandated mission. “I would never vote for her,” the first agent said. “These past four years have been a nightmare for the patrol, and it would be another four years of the same — and probably worse than Biden, honestly,” a second agent said. 99 illegal aliens on terrorist watchlist released into U.S., report finds

By Virginia Allen | The Daily Signal Under the Biden-Harris administration, at least 99 illegal aliens on America’s terrorist watchlist have been released into the United States, according to a congressional report.  “As if the record-breaking number of border encounters of illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist is not concerning enough, the Biden-Harris administration has released some of the aliens into the interior of the United States,” says the new report from the House Judiciary Committee and its Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement.  From the start of fiscal year 2021 through the end of fiscal 2023, the Border Patrol says, it encountered 282 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist between ports of entr...

Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang linked to brutal jewel heist in Denver

By Julian Resendiz | Fox 31 News Federal officials in El Paso have relinquished custody of an alleged Tren de Aragua gang member they say is linked to a violent June 24 jewelry store robbery in Denver. Homeland Security Investigations special agents in Las Cruces, New Mexico, last week turned over the suspect to Denver County Sheriff’s Department staff for transfer to Colorado. HSI said the man is a Venezuelan national, a member of the Tren de Aragua transnational criminal organization and a “suspect in the June 24 Denver jewelry heist.” The brutal robbery caught on video shows several young men posing as clients suddenly turn on the all-female staff and clients. The robbers are seen pulling out guns, pushing open an office door and pistol whipping two women who fall onto on the f...

Build the wall: Texas wins lawsuit forcing Biden-Harris Admin to continue border wall construction

By Luca Cacciatore | Texas Scorecard Texas has won a major lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration, forcing them to continue constructing the wall on the southern border. In a Thursday press release, the attorney general’s office revealed the court found on Monday that the White House unlawfully sought to prevent congressionally approved funds from being used for the border. “This is a final victory against Biden’s attempt to defund the border wall,” stated Attorney General Ken Paxton. “His Administration illegally sought to prevent the construction of the border wall and illegally attempted to repurpose the money allocated for American safety and sovereignty, working instead to keep the border open.
