Colorado Among States That Handed Out $1.4B in Medicaid Funds to Illegals

By: Breccan F. Thies | The Federalist Five states and Washington, D.C., funneled more than $1.35 billion in federal taxpayer Medicaid funding to illegals, according to a preliminary audit of the program completed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS Administrator Dr. Mehemet Oz posted the results of the preliminary audit on social media showing California, D.C., Illinois, Washington, Colorado, and Oregon spent millions each on illegals, with California spending the bulk, topping over $1.3 billion alone. That money, according to Oz, was spent “just in the last few months.” The left constantly claims this does not, or even cannot, happen because it is against federal law to use programs like Medicaid — something meant for Americans — fo...

Judge Weighs Whether Colorado Can Restrict ICE From Warrantless Arrests

By: Michael Karlik | Colorado Politics A federal judge heard testimony on Thursday from multiple noncitizens who were arrested by immigration officers in Colorado this year, and arguments from their attorneys that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is violating the legal standard for conducting warrantless arrests. The ACLU of Colorado and other law firms have asked U.S. District Court Senior Judge R. Brooke Jackson to issue a preliminary injunction holding ICE to the requirement in federal law that warrantless arrests only occur when officers have probable cause to believe someone is in the country illegally and they are a flight risk. “Masked, militarized ICE agents with flak jackets and long rifles are terrorizing neighborhoods across Colorado, ignoring their du...

The Case of Ian Roberts: A Slap in the Face to Law-Abiding Citizens

By C. J. Garbo | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice The arrest of Ian Roberts, former superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools, is more than a scandal. It is an insult to every law-abiding citizen who plays by the rules, pays their taxes, and expects their government institutions to uphold the law with fairness and integrity. Roberts, an undocumented immigrant with a final deportation order, was entrusted with the leadership of Iowa’s largest school district. For this role, he collected nearly $300,000 a year in taxpayer money. Parents who struggle to pay rising property taxes funded his salary and benefits, even while their children’s classrooms lacked resources and their teachers went without competitive pay. How could this happen? According to federal filings, Roberts...

Record Number of ICE Transfers Reported by El Paso County

By Cleo Westin | Colorado Politics Twenty six people with criminal charges were transferred from the custody of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement from July to September, according to a news release by the office Monday. Deputies also detained 14 additional individuals with criminal charges who were released “before ICE authorities could take custody.” Wednesday’s announcement brings the total number of people transferred into ICE custody by the office this year to 45, according to several releases by the office. The sheriff’s office transferred 14 people to ICE custody in September, which is higher than any other month this year. The next highest months were April and July which each had seven transfers. “As we approach the 2026 L...

‘Nothing off the table’: U.S. targets citizenship fraud in major enforcement push

By Steven Richards | Just the News Operation Twin Shield in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota flagged more than 1,000 cases suspected of being fraudulent, the director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services told Just the News. After a joint operation by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) found “mass patterns” of marriage and other immigration fraud in Minneapolis, the agency’s director says denaturalization and prosecutions are on the table. Operation Twin Shield, which was conducted by USCIS in coordination with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, flagged over 1,000 cases suspected of involving “fraud or ineligibility indicators,” the agency shared in an after-action announcement.  The agency rev...

From border hawks to benefit brokers: How Democrats flipped on illegal immigration

By Brian C. Joondeph | Commentary, American Thinker Let's waltz through the decades with Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden, comparing their former stern warnings with their current soft-shoe routines. Buckle up, because this flip-flop parade will be an inconvenient sashay through their past statements. Back in 1996, Senator Chuck Schumer was the sheriff of congressional fiscal responsibility, wielding his gavel like a six-shooter. “People say, why can't you stop illegal immigrants from coming here? The number one answer we give our constituents is when they come here, they can get jobs, get benefits against the law because of fraud,” he declared during a U.S. House session. Fast forward to 2025. Last week, Schumer and his caucus sh...

GOP Warns Democrats’ Budget Plan Redirects Billions to Noncitizens

By Amanda Head | Just the News The Democrats' own proposal seeks to repeal the section of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that ends healthcare for aliens. At midnight Tuesday, the government shut down. Prior to the deadline, Republicans passed their budget proposal out of the House of Representatives, but Senate Democrats, along with Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, shot it down, 55-45.  While Republicans have branded this the "Schumer Shutdown," blame-slinging began months ago when negotiations commenced to avert the budget showdown.  The clarity of Democrats' desire to give illegal immigrants free healthcare is abundant, as evidenced by every single Democratic nominee eagerly raising their hand in support of the policy at the June 2019 ...

Federal sweep flags issues in 44% of targeted Minneapolis-area immigration interviews

By Hannah Nightingale | The Post Millennial Officers found evidence of "fraud, non-compliance, or public safety or national security concerns in 275 cases—44 percent of cases interviewed." A recent sweeping investigation undertaken by multiple federal agencies in the Minnesota cities of Minneapolis and St Paul, as well as surrounding areas, in September has revealed that nearly 50 percent of immigrants interviewed as part of the sweep committed some form of immigration fraud.  The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), in collaboration with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI, conducted Operation Twin Shield between September 19 and 28. The effort was described as "the first of its kind targeted surge of fraud detection and d...

DHS reports 2 million illegal alien deportations from U.S. since January

By: John Binder | Breitbart The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that two million illegal aliens have either been deported or self-deported from the United States since President Donald Trump took office on January 20. According to DHS officials, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are on pace to deport almost 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of Trump’s first year in his second term. Broken down more specifically, DHS officials say an estimated 1.6 million illegal aliens have self-deported from the U.S., while ICE agents have deported more than 400,000 illegal aliens. Altogether, DHS officials say two million illegal aliens have been deported in fewer than 250 days. “The numbers don’t lie: Two million illegal aliens have been removed or self-depo...

Gold Card residency rewards those investing in America, not exploiting it

By Brian C. Joondeph | Commentary, American Thinker President Donald Trump’s two recent executive orders, one imposing a $100,000 annual fee on H-1B visas and the other launching the “Gold Card” fast-track residency program, represent the most significant immigration reforms in decades.  Image by ChatGPT They flip the incentive structure that has for years favored multinational corporations and global outsourcing firms over American workers, while also tackling long-ignored national security risks. As a policy, open borders is one area where Democrats and many Republicans agree. Democrats want new voters, while the Chamber of Commerce and Wall Street Journal Republicans want cheap labor. President George W. Bush, backed by Senator John McCain, in 2007, pushed for “comp...
