Some who want Biden out are after Harris too, AOC says in video rant

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice In an hour-long, self-described "rip the band-aid off" moment on Instagram, U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reports that even if certain top Democrats get President Joe Biden to withdraw his election bid, they won't be satisfied. They want Vice President Kamala Harris out too, she said, indicating Democrats are saying one thing in public and another in private. "I feel like there have been a lot of smokescreens and people have not been given the whole story," Ocasio-Cortez said. "I don't have a crystal ball and don't know what all is going on." She added: "That debate sucked. It sucked for everybody. It was just like not great." Ocasio-Cortez indicates influential Democrats are seeking more than just Biden's removal. “A lot of the...

‘Time for Joe to go’: Growing number of Democrats want Biden out of race

By MIA MCCARTHY and IRIE SENTNER | Politico A new wave of Democrats has renewed calls for President Joe Biden to drop out of the race on Friday — a sudden burst of new defectors at the end of a week of crisis for the Biden campaign that’s been defined by leaks and backchannel conversations about the president’s potential exit. It’s a signal that the party has run out of patience and believes a decisive moment is at hand — and the latest indication that Biden has failed to staunch the flood of Democrats urging him to step aside since his disastrous debate performance on June 27. Since then, more than 30 Democrats have called on him to step down while top Congressional leaders are reportedly urging him to reconsider his decision to remain in the race behind closed doors. Hick: Biden’s withdrawal could ‘be in the best interests of the country’

By Ernest Luning | Colorado Politics U.S. Sen. John Hickenlooper said Wednesday that he believes it could be "in the best interests of the country" if President Joe Biden ends his bid for reelection, though the Colorado Democrat didn't call on Biden to exit the race, instead suggesting that the president could be nearing that decision. "Joe Biden has always put the country first. He's done what's best for America," Hickenlooper told Reuters in an interview. "He's working towards that." Said Hickenlooper: "That's his decision to make, but certainly there's more and more indications that that would be in the best interests of the country, I think." Federal appeals court says no to Biden’s student loan debt handout plan

By Eric Revell  | Fox Business A federal appeals court on Thursday issued a ruling that blocks the Biden administration from continuing to implement a new version of its student loan debt handout plan that is designed to reduce monthly payments for borrowers. The U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals granted a request by seven Republican states to block portions of the Education Department's plan that a lower court judge hadn't previously blocked. Last month, a U.S. District Court in St. Louis blocked the agency from moving forward with granting additional student loan forgiveness under the Biden administration's Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan – though it didn't block all elements of the plan. Saying their names: Families of U.S. troops killed in Kabul airport bombing criticize Biden, praise Trump

By Jonathan J. Cooper, Farnoush Amiri, Matthew Lee and Steve Peoples | Air Force Times Relatives of some of the 13 American service members killed during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan appeared on stage at the Republican National Convention Wednesday in an emotional moment that revived one of the low points of President Joe Biden’s presidency. Many of the Gold Star families have criticized Biden for never publicly naming their loved ones. On stage Wednesday, one of the family members named each of the 13 service members, and the crowd echoed back each name as it was read aloud. “Joe Biden has refused to recognize their sacrifice,” Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, told the crowd. “Donald Trump knew all of our children’s names. He knew all of t...

Adversaries turned allies tell RNC Trump is right for job, Biden right for “Weekend at Bernie’s”

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice Actions speak louder than words and on the second evening of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisc., a few of former President Donald J. Trump's rivals acted through their words. Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, who offered Mr. Trump the greatest challenge in the primary season, joined with his toughest competition from the 2016 primary, Sen. Ted Cruz, as an expression of the party coalescing around Trump. "Never before has an election mattered so much," Cruz said. Mr. Trump is the Republican Party's nominee for President. On Monday, he announced Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate on the Republican ticket. Ron DeSantis, the governor of Trump's home state of Florida, set a tone. "Joe Biden has fa...

Poll: Colorado’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention are still backing Joe Biden

By Jesse Paul and Sandra Fish | The Colorado Sun They’re still ridin’ with Biden. For now.  The Colorado Sun on Thursday polled nearly 20 of the state’s delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next month, and none said they planned on not backing Joe Biden to be the Democratic nominee for president.  However, some said they didn’t think Biden is the best option amid questions about his mental fitness and ability to beat Donald Trump, while others declined to comment. Colorado will have 87 delegates to the Aug. 19-22 convention, including the state’s two U.S. senators and five U.S. House members. And while they are instructed to vote in “good conscience” to back Biden since he won the Democratic presidential primaries this year in a landslide, t...

Biden tells Colorado Rep. Jason Crow: ‘I don’t want to hear that crap’

By SARAH FERRIS | Politico President Joe Biden gave a forceful and defensive response to centrist Democrats who raised concerns about his reelection campaign in a Saturday meeting, and in one tense exchange dismissed one lawmaker’s concerns as “crap.” Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), a respected centrist in the Democratic caucus, told Biden that people want a strong leader so they can feel safe on national security. “I don’t want to hear that crap,” Biden said in response to Crow’s suggestion that voters did not have confidence in his national security credentials, raising his voice in a forceful defense of his foreign policy record, including the rebuilding of NATO, according to three people familiar with the remarks granted anonymity to discuss the private meeting. Biden was hour late to call with Hispanic lawmakers, ending after several denied questions, one asked him to withdraw

By Matt Vespa | TownHall.com One Democrat had the courage to tell Biden to his face that he needed to go. It was during a call with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus that quickly devolved into chaos, according to NOTUS. The president has been working to shore up support as significant swaths of the party have been shaken by his disastrous debate performance on June 27. Three-fourths of the country think Biden is too old to be effective, with the president’s approvals settling in the mid-30s. As of today, Donald Trump is heading toward reclaiming his old job.  READ THE FULL STORY AT TOWNHALL.COM
