Colorado Democrats Push Measure Targeting ICE Use of Vehicle Tracking Systems

By Savana Kascak | Complete Colorado DENVER–A bill imposing new restrictions on police access to vehicle location surveillance data cleared a Colorado Senate committee on Monday, with one Democrat sponsor making no bones that the legislation is in significant part aimed at federal immigration enforcement. Senate Bill 26-070 bans law enforcement agencies from accessing databases containing historical vehicle locations without first obtaining a warrant. The bill also prohibits any sharing of data with third parties, including via Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests. Such databases include those used by companies like Flock Safety, Motorola, and Axon, which utilize cameras, license plate readers, and cellular networks in public intersections to assist police in...

Bill Opening Door To Lawsuits Against Immigration Officials Clears Colorado Senate

By Jacob Factor | KDVR DENVER (KDVR) — A Colorado bill that would open the door for lawsuits against immigration officials who injure people in the state passed the Colorado Senate Tuesday morning, moving one step closer to becoming law. Senate Bill 26-005, “Rights Violation in Immigration Enforcement Remedy,” states that it is meant to protect Coloradans constitutional rights during civil immigration enforcement. The bill comes amid heavily scrutinized federal immigration operations throughout the U.S., including a recently ended crackdown in Minnesota in which immigration officials killed two American citizens and injured more. SB26-005 creates a cause of action for people injured during civil immigration enforcement actions “by another person who, whether ...

Colorado task force clears 566 felony warrants as fugitive arrests rise in 2025

By Shaina Cole | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice Colorado was not an easy place to hide last year. By the end of 2025, U.S. Marshals Service was reporting 498 fugitive arrests tied to Colorado's Violent Offender Task Force. Those arrests cleared 566 felony warrants in total - more than the year before, and enough to register as a 17 percent increase. The figures come from the Marshals Service’s statewide enforcement summary, not from a collection of isolated arrests or one-off operations. In the agency’s words, the increase reflected “relentless efforts to locate and arrest violent fugitives,” driven by coordination across multiple law-enforcement agencies. What the Marshals Actually Reported The organization and operation of the Colorado Violen...

He brought the pills to a friend's home where he and his girlfriend, identified in the court documents only as "J.H.," crushed one pill and snorted a portion of it.  "Once at that residence," federal prosecutors stated in another court document, "J.H. decided to try what would be her first, and last, dose of fentanyl." Hale, then 20 years old, awoke around noon the next day. He had defecated himself and "J.H." had vomited on him, according to the document. She was unconscious and not breathing. He tried to r...

By Asra Q. Nomani, Alba Cuebas-Fantauzzi | Fox News Fox News Digital uncovers a shadow network of anti-ICE scouts tracking law enforcement across 13 databases in a surveillance operation a retired Green Beret warns is 'dangerous'. Early last week, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the bureau is investigating the use of the encrypted Signal messaging platform by "ICE Watch" activists to track and block federal immigration enforcement. Just days later, Jill Garvey, co-founder of a group called "States at the Core," logged into a Zoom webinar to train a new crop of "rapid responders" on a military-grade intelligence gathering method called "SALUTE." An acronym for Size, Activity, Location, Uniform, Time, Equipment, SALUTE is a mnemonic device that typical...
