SCOTUS clears the way: States can now block abortion providers from Medicaid

Washington, D.C. – This morning the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a major win for babies and their mothers in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, clearing the way for South Carolina and other states to stop funding big abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood in their Medicaid programs.
South Carolina’s victory marks a meaningful step forward in the fight to stop forced taxpayer funding of the abortion industry. It offers a glimpse of what can be achieved nationwide with congressional passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, which would defund big abortion businesses in Medicaid through the budget reconciliation process.
