Protest Leaders Call for Reshaping America’s Founding Institutions at Washington Rally

By: Libby Bandelin | The Federalist ‘We want to tear the American system down,’ one protestor told The Federalist. A week before the 250th anniversary of America declaring independence, more than 1,000 people assembled at the nation’s capital to make a declaration of their own: their vision to dismantle America’s founding institutions. “All of US Next250 National Mobilization” protested the Trump administration, debuted new “founding documents,” and re-envisioned America as seen by Marxist revolutionaries. “It’s not just a day, it’s a movement, and it’s been three years in the making,” Saru Jayarman, a co-organizer of Next250, told The Federalist. “This is the time to set the tone for what the next 250 years will be.” Dozens of activist organizations assembled...

High Court Removes Limits on Party Coordination With Federal Candidates

By Shannon Ogden | Denver7 The ruling allows national parties to make direct contributions to candidate campaigns and is expected to give Republicans a short-term financial advantage. The Supreme Court struck down limits on how much political parties can spend in coordination with candidates for Congress and president. The limits had been in place to prevent large donors from circumventing caps on contributions to a candidate by directing money to a party with the understanding the money would be spent for that candidate. The ruling means national parties will now be able to make direct contributions to candidate campaigns. The decision is also expected to give Republicans a short-term boost because they have a large cash advantage over Democrats. READ ...

Federal Judge Permanently Blocks Key Parts of Trump’s Election Order

By Alliyah Sims | KDVR DENVER (KDVR) — A federal judge has permanently blocked key parts of President Donald Trump’s executive order on elections, ruling after a legal fight that began last year over voter registration rules and proof-of-citizenship requirements. The decision strikes down provisions tied to how states verify voter eligibility and says those responsibilities belong to states and Congress, not the president. The ruling also turns a temporary block into a permanent one; however, an appeal is expected. Rob Preuhs, Professor and Chair of Political Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver, said the concern at the center of the case is how election systems could impact eligible voters. “That means that we’re all potentially at the risk o...

The Myth Of The Moderate In Today’s Political Landscape

By Mike Rosen | Commentary, Complete Colorado The word “moderate” is a fashionable term these days as the remedy to the nation’s sharply divided politics, but it’s highly overrated and largely inaccurate.  A stark example is Democrat Abigail Spanberger who was elected governor of Virginia in 2025 as a self-declared moderate. Spanberger promised not to redistrict the state if elected, having branded gerrymandering as “detrimental to our democracy” as a member of Congres in 2019. Yet in her first year in office, she signed a bill that would gerrymander Virginia, giving Democrats a 10-1 advantage in the U.S. House, from 6-5. (Her voting record in Congress was anything but moderate with a 100% rating form the ACLU and 3% from the American Conservative Union.) President John ...

Sheriffs and Prosecutors Push Back Against Democrat Governors’ Leftist Agendas

By Nicholas Ballasy | Just the News In Maryland and Virginia, disputes over immigration enforcement and firearms restrictions exposed widening tensions between Democratic state leaders and local law enforcement officials. wo Democrat governors trying to advance progressive policies on immigration and gun control are facing pushback from local law enforcement, with sheriffs and prosecutors in Maryland and Virginia openly resisting portions of the states’ new agendas. In Maryland, a majority of the state’s elected sheriffs filed a federal lawsuit challenging the newly enacted Community Trust Act, a law backed by Democrat Gov. Wes Moore that limited cooperation between local law enforcement agencies and federal immigration authorities.  The sheriffs argued t...

Trump Allies Eye Unconventional Response To Virginia Redistricting Fight

By Chad R. Mizelle | Commentary, Fox News Returning Arlington to the District of Columbia would fight fire with fire. If you’re proud of something, you want people to see it. That is why it’s telling that Virginia Democrats are asking Old Dominion residents to vote for a redistricting scheme without allowing their proposed map to be printed on the ballots. But it’s no wonder: the mid-decade redistricting proposal is an obscene gerrymander that will wipe out all but one GOP-leaning congressional district in the state. And, of course, they claim it’s all done in the name of "democracy." This dishonest power play seeks to make the congressional representation of a purple state nearly as blue as Massachusetts. It disenfranchises nearly half the commonwea...

Democrat Push to Expand Supreme Court Could Redefine Constitutional Balance

By Jonathan Turley | Commentary, Jonathan Turley Blog Various Democrats have been openly discussing their plans after retaking power to change the system so they never lose power again. Democratic strategist James Carville has been one of the most vocal and returned to the subject this week in laying out how they will make D.C. and Puerto Rico states and pack the Supreme Court with a liberal majority. On his podcast with Al Hunt, Carville explained, “If the Democrats win the presidency and both houses of Congress, I think on day one, they should make Puerto Rico [and] D.C. a state, and they should expand the Supreme Court to 13. F— it. Eat our dust.” Notably, this week, New Jersey just elected a radical new member, Analilia Mejia, who ran on pa...

Gabbard Targets Impeachment Origins With DOJ Criminal Referral

By John Solomon and Misty Severi | Just The News "ODNI can confirm a criminal referral was sent to DOJ related to one or more former employees of the Intelligence Community and their role in the 2019 impeachment of President Trump," an ODNI spokesperson told Just The News. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Wednesday referred the 2019 Ukraine impeachment whistleblower against Donald Trump, as well as the former intelligence community inspector general, for criminal investigation by the Justice Department, officials told Just The News.  The criminal referrals were sent to the Justice Department just four days after Gabbard declassified intelligence that the CIA analyst who filed against Trump that prompted the impeachment had misled the inves...

Colorado Senate Advances New Gun Store Oversight Bill Toward Final Approval

By Derek Draplin | The Center Square (The Center Square) – The Colorado Senate on Tuesday gave final approval to a bill adding more regulations to gun stores operating in the state. House Bill 26-1126, titled “Requirements for Firearms Dealers,” was approved on its third reading in a 20 to 15 vote, sending it to Gov. Jared Polis' desk to be signed into law. The bill directs the Department of Revenue to adopt new security rules for gun dealers, which must adopt the measures and submit a plan to the state by Oct. 1 next year. It would also require gun dealers to keep an electronic record of firearm transfers and would allow the state to fine gun dealers up to $75,000 for some violations. Republicans and gun rights groups argue the legislation is part of a larger e...
