Drake Middle School removed “America, Reloading.” Then another poem fight started.

By Jen Schumann | Rocky Mountain Voice Drake Middle School parents were told last year that students could write spoken-word poems about politics or divisive issues if they personally chose those topics. This spring, one DMS student wrote a pro-life poem about abortion. School officials told the student she could turn the poem in for credit, but could not read it aloud in class. Parents had already spent more than a year warning DMS and Jeffco leaders about the school’s SLAM poetry unit before the story spread nationally. Parents objected to SLAM poetry unit in 2025 Parents began emailing DMS leadership in 2025 after students watched “America, Reloading” and “The Star Spanglish Banner” in class. One email sent to teacher Tanisha Lee and DMS principal Jill Kline des...

Conservatives Unite to End Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Providers

By: Elizabeth Troutman Mitchell | The Daily Signal FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—The pro-life movement has determined its newest priority: preventing Planned Parenthood from receiving full funding again, starting July 4. “Next year, our nation will mark its 250th anniversary. A celebration of human dignity and the God-given rights proclaimed in our founding,” Live Action founder and president Lila Rose told The Daily Signal. “But we cannot celebrate freedom while subsidizing the killing of American children.” President Donald Trump’s “One, Big Beautiful Bill” instructed the federal government to end Medicaid payments for one year to abortion providers, such as Planned Parenthood, that received more than $800,000,000 from Medicaid in 2023. But on July 4, America’...

Abortion Without Limits: Colorado Clinic Offers Procedures ‘for Any Reason’ to 34 Weeks

By Katherine Hamilton | Breitbart News A new clinic opened in Boulder, Colorado, that offers to abort babies up to 34 weeks of pregnancy for “any reason,” which is ten weeks after most babies can survive outside the womb and roughly six weeks before a baby is considered full-term. The clinic, called RISE Collective, opened in response to the shuttering of the Boulder Abortion Clinic in April, the Daily Mail reported. That facility was operated by 87-year-old abortionist Dr. Warren Hern and was infamous for being one of only a handful of clinics in the United States that performed abortions in the third trimester of pregnancy. Alicia Moreno, the executive director of the RISE Collective, worked at the Boulder Abortion Clinic under Hern. “When the clinic closed we all said we don...

Republicans, led by Texas Rep. Chip Roy, move to repeal the act Biden used to jail peaceful pro-lifers

By Jordan Boyd | The Federalist Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas, with the support of 25 Republican cosponsors, reintroduced legislation on Tuesday that seeks to prevent the political prosecution of peaceful pro-lifers by repealing the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. Congress first passed the FACE Act in 1994. It was at the direction of President Joe Biden after the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson decision nearly two decades later, however, that the FBI and Department of Justice started to arrest and hand down uncharacteristically harsh sentences to dozens of people, many Christians, who peacefully protested ending life in the womb. “Americans just spent the last four years being targeted by a weaponized justice system. The FACE Act was one of the primary ...

Barnhart: Two years ago, today, Supreme Court ruled favorably in the Dobbs case

By Faye Barnhart | Guest Columnist, Rocky Mountain Voice It has been two years since the seemingly impossible happened with the overturn of Roe v. Wade in the historic Dobbs decision. Taking a similar course to slavery in the United States, the Supreme Court had made an overarching dismissal of all 50 states laws that previous to 1973 limited or outlawed abortion in all the states. Even in Colorado -- the first notorious state for allowing abortion -- it was originally limited to 16 weeks and needed a three-panel of doctors and the permission of the husband. As archaic as that may sound, it shows how compromising with evil has gotten us to where we are today, where more than 2,000 children are legally tortured to death every month in Colorado, from conception through all nine months ...
