Man charged with homicide after secretly poisoning girlfriend with abortion pills

By Jack Davis | Commentary, The Western Journal An Illinois man is facing homicide charges after allegedly slipping abortion pills to his girlfriend without her consent. WMBD-TV reported that 31-year-old Emerson Evans of the community of Normal appeared Monday in McLean County Circuit Court. Judge Amy McFarland agreed to prosecutors’ request to detain Evans pending a trial. Evans faces two counts of intentional homicide of an unborn child, a felony comparable to first-degree murder. https://twitter.com/LiveAction/status/1960348966689636626 The charges carry a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison for each count, IPM News reported. My sexual assault never appeared in D.C. crime stats as convicted attacker was released repeatedly

By Anna Giaritelli | Commentary, Washington Examiner Five years ago, I was violently attacked and sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Washington, D.C., by a homeless man. He served time in federal prison for what he did to me. But if you look for evidence that the attack happened in the city’s crime statistics, you won’t find it. The truth of what happened to me and the D.C. government’s role in it is as much a public scandal as it is a personal trauma. D.C. police covered up the unspeakable wrong that the stranger did to me. Even though a judge sentenced my attacker to hard time in prison, D.C. police leadership would rather deceive the public and appear less dangerous than list mine and countless other sexual assaults on their website. The extent of ...

Documents reveal how George Soros controls prosecutors

By Luke Rosiak | Daily Wire As we prepare to enter the new year, we’re taking you back to some of The Daily Wire’s best reporting from 2024. This article was originally published on August 12.  George Soros and his son, Alex, have spent at least $117 million since 2016 to reshape America’s justice system. They’ve been successful: three in 10 Americans now live under a Soros prosecutor. But the Soroses’ influence doesn’t end on Election Day. After Soros-backed prosecutors take office, the family’s apparatus tells them what to do, documents show. The Media Research Center obtained nearly 8,000 pages of internal documents through public records laws that show how a Soros-funded group called Fair and Just Prosecution (FJP) “directed Soros prosecutors to manipulate th...

Democratic voters oust soft-on-crime prosecutors

By Dan Hart | Daily Signal It appears that even in Democratic strongholds, voters have had enough with soft-on-crime policies that have been implemented by left-wing prosecutors in recent years. In California and Illinois, three district attorneys who enacted lenient criminal policies were ousted during Tuesday’s election. In addition, a ballot measure to toughen criminal penalties in California was passed overwhelmingly. In Los Angeles County, which Vice President Kamala Harris won by almost 30 points, Democratic District Attorney George Gascón lost by 22 points to Nathan Hochman, an independent. Gascón, who was elected with the backing of George Soros in the wake of the George Floyd killing in 2020, became known for eliminating cash bail and refusing to charge ...
