I had a chance to interview the Secretary after his speech. But importantly, Bessent emphasized deregulation, especially in the banking sector - and that includes bank loans to small businesses. This is important because during the Biden years, Fed Chair Jay Powell swayed with the wind and promoted DEI, ESG, no loans to oil and gas companies, terrible supervision of Silicon Valley, and a disregard for the importance of community banks. Bessent sets the record straight on ‘misinformation’ about DOGE’s work

By Leah Barkoukis | TownHall Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Thursday addressed the "misinformation" being circulated about the work the Department of Government Efficiency is doing. In an interview with Bloomberg, Bessent said he vetted the Treasury employees tasked with accessing federal payment data, noting they have read-only access and are not “tinkering” with payment systems in any way. “It is an operational review. It is not an ideological review,” Bessent told Saleha Mohsin, according to Bloomberg. “The ability to change the system sits over at the Federal Reserve. Man arrested at Capitol with molotov cocktails wanted to kill Treasury Sec Scott Bessent

By Hannah Nightingale | The Post Millennial A Massachusetts man who was arrested at the US Capitol on Monday with Molotov cocktails and knives told authorities that he was there to kill Scott Bessent, who was confirmed as Secretary of the Treasury the same day, court documents filed on Tuesday revealed. According to the affidavit, Ryan Michael "Reily" English approached a Capitol Police Officer on Monday at around 3:12 pm near the South Door of the US Capitol Building and said "I’d like to turn myself in."
