This year, the hospital system saw more students with more severe struggles. A surge of kids struggling with mental health crises spent part of their summer in the emergency department at Children’s Hospital Colorado — a season medical professionals say is typically quiet with a lull in patients. Children’s Hospital Colorado reported a 26% uptick in children showing up at the emergency department because of mental health challenges between June and July this year compared with the same timeframe last year. YouTuber Schlep says the platform banned him after he worked with law enforcement to help catch child predators. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is suing Roblox, calling it a “clear and present danger” to kids. Both are pointing to the same problem: a platform packed with children and not enough safeguards to protect them. Schlep claims his tips led to multiple arrests. Instead of a thank you, he says the company sent him a legal notice and locked him out. The 29-6 vote was five above the two-thirds majority required for an override. It's the first override of a Polis gubernatorial veto of a bill-or any bill from his three predecessors-since the administration of Gov. Roy Romer in 1988. There have been other veto overrides—in 2007 and 2011—but those were directions from the General Assembly to state agencies as part of the budget process. A Trump administration official told Reuters on Wednesday that the e-commerce giant made a bid to buy TikTok ahead of the looming ban. The New York Times previously reported, citing three people familiar with the matter, that Amazon placed a last-minute bid to acquire TikTok in its entirety. However, those sources told the outlet the parties involved in the discussions don't appear to be taking Amazon's bid seriously. By Allie Jennerjahn | Denver7 DENVER — A mother who lost her son to a fentanyl overdose wants stronger protections for people acting illegally on social media, and a bill scheduled for discussion on Monday could do just that. Among many things, SB25-086 would require social media companies to enact public policies for their platform and remove a user who violates them within 72 hours. "Users who are posting the sale or availability of fentanyl or other illicit drugs or illegal guns or opportunities for young people to engage in sex would be, should be removed from the platform," Chelsea Congdon said.
