Colorado Tightens Sports Betting Rules With Deposit Limits and Credit Card Ban

Jared Polis on June 2. The measure, Senate Bill 26-131, is one of the more prescriptive payment-side interventions any US state has imposed on licensed mobile sportsbooks. It does not cap how much money a bettor may move into an account; it caps how many times they may do it within a 24-hour window, alongside a package of marketing restrictions that reaches into push notifications and advertising aimed at people under 21. Colorado Turns Sports Betting Into Major Water-Project Funding

By Marianne Goodland | Colorado Politics Funding for the state’s 2015 water plan started as a trickle. But sports gaming revenue has now turned that trickle into a steady stream. The Colorado Division of Gaming announced this week that nearly $33.8 million from 2024-25 will be allocated to the Colorado Water Conservation Board to support the state’s water plan, with distribution to water projects set to begin in July 2026. Estimates of the following year’s revenues are even better: a forecast of nearly $39 million that could help fund hundreds of projects throughout the state. Ute Mountain Ute Tribe joins sports betting lawsuit against Colorado

By Eric Young | The Gazette Another Colorado tribe has joined a lawsuit against the state over access to online sports gambling.  An amended complaint filed Thursday with the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado added the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe to a lawsuit filed earlier this year against the state by the Southern Ute Tribe. The complaint alleges that both tribes have been "unfairly" denied by the Colorado Department of Revenue from engaging in online sports betting after the passage of Proposition DD in 2019, which legalized it in the state.
