TPUSA approval sparks chaos at Fort Lewis College: Assault reported after professor emeritus erupts

By Shaina Cole | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice Fort Lewis College in Durango erupted into chaos on November 7th after the Associated Students of Fort Lewis College (ASFLC) reversed an earlier decision and voted to approve a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter on campus. What began as a routine appeal meeting ended with a reported assault, shouting, and a professor emeritus’s profanity-filled outburst—all recorded on video that has since gone viral. The confrontation was captured on video and quickly spread after being posted to Facebook and amplified on X/Twitter by Libs of TikTok, where it gained national attention. The appeal meeting itself followed weeks of tension. TPUSA students had first been denied chapter approval, prompting an appeal that drew more than 60 suppo...

CU Boulder TPUSA Leader Attacked After Antifa “Hit List” Circulates Online

By Jonathan Turley | JonathanTurley.org As Democratic leaders like Rep. Dan Goldman (D, N.Y.) insist that Antifa does not exist as a group, two Antifa groups — Front Range Antifa and Colorado Springs Antifa — put out a hit list poster on a University of Colorado sophomore and leader in Turning Point USA. He was promptly attacked by a person in the signature Antifa black outfit on roller blades who used a hockey stick to mete out the punishment. According to a press release, Boulder Police are looking for a suspect accused of attacking a 19-year-old Turning Point USA student leader near the University of Colorado, Boulder on Thursday evening. The attacker is suspected to be an Antifa member and to have followed the victim in the premeditate...

Texas parents pressured by activist group to block conservative TPUSA chapter

By Thomas Stevenson | The Post Millennial "Please please please send emails to two teachers who are rumored to have agreed to sponsoring a club that will sow division and hate among our students." The vice president of a local Democrat club in Texas Adults attempted to rally adults in a private Facebook group to pressure teachers at Stratford High School in Texas to refuse to sponsor a Turning Point USA chapter (known as Club America at the high school level) at the school. Details of the chat were leaked by adults into a private Facebook group page. They also spread falsehoods about the identity of the killer of Charlie Kirk, who founded TPUSA. Andrew Kolvet, spokesman for Turning Point USA and close friend to the late Charlie Kirk, said on X, "Some grown adults in...

Faith under fire: Grief, risk—and the legacy Charlie left behind

By Jen Schumann | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Grief is an ember. Handled well, it can light a thousand torches. Pastor Chris Goble put it plainly—Charlie “died because he was willing to do things that we weren’t”—then pictured that spark rising into a bonfire of new voices. The scene in Orem set the tone, the flight to Phoenix confirmed it—and the work ahead now belongs to those willing to carry the heat without burning out. The cost of courage For Heidi Ganahl, the loss feels like “a gaping hole” in the conservative movement. “Freedom can be dangerous,” she said. “And it took a dear friend’s life.” Goble anchored that grief in scripture, drawing parallels to the early church. “We live in a spiritual cosmic war,” he said. “We have to expect both real and spiritual bulle...

Colorado mourns Charlie Kirk with vigil on Sept. 18–same day he was to speak at CSU

By Jen Schumann | Rocky Mountain Voice This story was updated to include the list of CSU vigil speakers and highlights from their reflections on Charlie Kirk. Instead of a speech by Charlie Kirk at CSU, a vigil will be held in his honor. At 5:30 pm on Thursday, Sept. 18, a student-led gathering will begin at CSU’s Canvas Stadium. The stadium can seat 36,000 and is located at 751 W Pitkin St., Fort Collins. CSU says it worked with organizers to move activities into secure campus venues and will use its clear-bag rule and magnetometers at entry. The university also notes these are externally organized events and not CSU-endorsed. Campus will operate as usual and parking will be tight. Planning ahead is recommended. Firearms are not permitted on college campuses under state l...

To American Youth: We’re passing you the torch

By Jen Schumann | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice I’m writing this from a rainy weekend in Vallecito, Colorado, sitting in a small A-frame with my young adult son. It’s quiet here, but grief followed me. In the past I think about how inadequate I am to help my children and grandchildren face adversity and challenges in life and I see how fallible my attempts are. And yet, in this moment, I feel — with Charlie Kirk — emboldened in a way I never have before, even though we are heartbroken. To American youth: this is for you. Like so many others, I’ve been wrestling with how to make sense of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. I am a mom, a grandma and a former teacher. But like Charlie taught countless young people, we don’t stop when life is heavy — we take up the torch. What...

From silence to the mic: Why young conservatives say CSU’s TPUSA event matters

By Jen Schumann | Rocky Mountain Voice Turning Point USA is bringing Charlie Kirk and the American Comeback Tour to Colorado State University (CSU) on Sept. 18. The chapter will host two events that day—a midday “Prove Me Wrong” debate session and an evening program at the Lory Student Center Ballrooms. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with priority seating for CSU students, though community members are also welcome. Registration is required and first come, first served. https://twitter.com/vlynstam/status/1960774930544669136 Vega Stamatien, now a TPUSA College Rockies field representative after serving as chapter president at the University of Northern Colorado, said the event is about bringing students together for honest conversation. “It’s no secret that we need more civil discourse...

Turning Point USA launches at Valor Christian: Courage, character, and a little wild West spirit

By RMV Staff | Rocky Mountain Voice It was more than just another Tuesday morning at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado—it was a full-on Turning Point. Nearly 50 students, faculty, and guests gathered for the official launch of Valor’s new Turning Point USA chapter, and let’s just say, the energy was more electric than a Bronco game on a Sunday afternoon. Gabby Reichardt, the Rockies High School Field Representative for Turning Point USA, called the launch a personal milestone. “I'm super proud to have a chapter at Valor as my alma mater and it was definitely a target school of mine for a long time.” She added, “Having a community surrounding the students who want to help support the chapter is really great. And that's definitely part of our broader high school ...

Hate or free speech? CMU students react to local Turning Point USA polls

By Jen Schumann | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice Few things stir debate on college campuses like politics—and at CMU, a student group’s whiteboard polls have done just that. Turning Point USA’s Colorado Mesa University chapter (TPUSA CMU) has sparked discussion after posting a series of provocative whiteboard poll questions in the university’s cafeteria.  Some students view the questions as open discussion starters, while others see them as hate speech meant to provoke. “Some of the questions pertaining to immigrants and other situations going on, you have to understand a lot of people are going through this personally,” CMU student Welam Agamba told KKCO 11 News. Founded by Charlie Kirk in 2012, TPUSA is known for challenging anti-American perspectives on colle...

Emmons: Dems mad they ‘got killed in alternative media’ as they seek to replicate TPUSA, Daily Wire

By Libby Emmons, Commentary | The Post Millennial Democrats are unhappy about their electoral loss and they're still trying to figure out how it happened. They have blamed voters, pollsters, Joe Biden, each other, and now they have decided that their lack of alternative media in the parallel economy model of the right is to blame. "We got killed in alternative media," said Stuart Perelmuter in a new article out from The New York Times. Perelmuter has been "contemplating" some kind of alternative Dem influencer group. "Republicans have been investing in that space for years. And on the left we have treated creators who are not in legacy media as gig workers." Perelmuter is one of many left-wing progressive influencers who complained to The Times that the Democrats are...
