Adams County Expands Fight Against Human Trafficking With Specialized Detectives

The sheriff’s office has launched a new Human Trafficking Unit inside its Detective Division. That division will target prostitution, exploitation and human trafficking across unincorporated Adams County. Sheriff officials said the unit will bring focused enforcement, victim advocacy and interagency collaboration to combat exploitation, which includes both adults and children. George “JR” Sagner was found guilty on multiple felony counts, including sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust. Prosecutors said Sagner used his role as a coach to groom and abuse players for years. He is scheduled to be sentenced in January and faces a minimum of 12 years and up to more than 100 years in prison. The case began with a Safe2Tell tip in 2022, but court records show allegations stretching back to 2012. (KRDO) – A Lone Tree man will serve four years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing and distributing over 200,000 images of child pornography, the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s (DA) Office said. Following his release from prison, 28-year-old Daryl Henry Joe, Jr. will be required to serve ten years of probation. In March of 2024, Lone Tree police received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, regarding images of child pornography the agency had traced to a computer at Joe’s address in Lone Tree.
