Sheriffs and Prosecutors Push Back Against Democrat Governors’ Leftist Agendas

By Nicholas Ballasy | Just the News In Maryland and Virginia, disputes over immigration enforcement and firearms restrictions exposed widening tensions between Democratic state leaders and local law enforcement officials. wo Democrat governors trying to advance progressive policies on immigration and gun control are facing pushback from local law enforcement, with sheriffs and prosecutors in Maryland and Virginia openly resisting portions of the states’ new agendas. In Maryland, a majority of the state’s elected sheriffs filed a federal lawsuit challenging the newly enacted Community Trust Act, a law backed by Democrat Gov. Wes Moore that limited cooperation between local law enforcement agencies and federal immigration authorities.  The sheriffs argued t...

Trump Allies Eye Unconventional Response To Virginia Redistricting Fight

By Chad R. Mizelle | Commentary, Fox News Returning Arlington to the District of Columbia would fight fire with fire. If you’re proud of something, you want people to see it. That is why it’s telling that Virginia Democrats are asking Old Dominion residents to vote for a redistricting scheme without allowing their proposed map to be printed on the ballots. But it’s no wonder: the mid-decade redistricting proposal is an obscene gerrymander that will wipe out all but one GOP-leaning congressional district in the state. And, of course, they claim it’s all done in the name of "democracy." This dishonest power play seeks to make the congressional representation of a purple state nearly as blue as Massachusetts. It disenfranchises nearly half the commonwea...

Colorado Joins Other Blue States On California’s Risky Fiscal Road

By John Mac Ghlionn | Commentary, New York Post Colorado used to be the West’s answer to California — all the mountains, none of the madness. Pro-growth, lightly regulated, and magnetically attractive to the kind of ambitious people California was slowly driving out. That equilibrium is gone. The strivers arrived from the Golden State, shifted the politics leftward, and brought the policy preferences that made them leave in the first place. The results are arriving on schedule. Population growth has slowed. The labor force has contracted. Denver now trails Midwestern peers in economic momentum. Housing costs have climbed to coastal absurdity, with typical homes demanding more than six times median income. READ THE FULL ARTICLE AT NEW YORK POST...

Republican Losses Offer Wake-Up Call Ahead of 2026

By: Matt Vespa | Townhall Last night was ugly. The major races in Virginia and New Jersey were killing fields for the GOP. But keep in mind one thing: these are blue states, and they acted like it. Republicans got swept in these key races. Republicans in Virginia lost the governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general races. New Jersey, where one hoped Republican Jack Ciattarelli could pull off an upset, was dashed by the general political mood and the fact that 250,000 New Jersey residents had fled the state the last time he ran, where he almost uprooted incumbent Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy. In the Old Dominion, the shutdown had an impact, for sure. Federal workers are Democrats, and they were furloughed and angry. Add that Republican Winsome Earle-Sears was not the best candi...

Top MS-13 leader described as ‘worst of the worst’ arrested in Virginia during major Trump-backed operation

By Anthony Blair | New York Post US authorities arrested an illegal migrant and top MS-13 leader for the East Coast — and one of the top three in the entire country — in a major Trump-backed operation in Virginia that nabbed more than 340 criminals in the past month alone, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced. “This is what happens when you let good cops be cops,” FBI Director Kash Patel told a press conference, following the arrest of the suspected terrorist, a 24-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, in a raid near Dale City, Prince William County on Thursday morning. Few details have yet been given about the joint operation, which involved the FBI, ICE, ATF, the Virginia State Police, and Prince William County Police Department. READ THE FULL STORY...

2025 showdown: This Republican woman may become nation’s first Black female governor

By Paul Steinhauser  | Fox News Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears of Virginia could make history next year as the nation's first Black woman to win election as a governor. She would also make history as Virginia's first female governor. But Sears, in an exclusive national interview with Fox News Digital, emphasized that "I'm not really running to make history. I'm just trying to, as I've said before, leave it better than I found it, and I want everyone to have the same opportunities I had." READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

Virginia turns to Supreme Court to boot alleged noncitizens from voter rolls

By Ashley Oliver| Washington Examiner Virginia’s attorney general asked the Supreme Court on Monday to step in quickly and halt a recent order by a lower court that forced the state to restore more than 1,600 possible noncitizens to its voter registration list. Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, a Republican, argued in a petition to the high court that the lower court’s “election-eve injunction,” which was issued on Friday and affirmed by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, violated Virginia’s law and “common sense.” The lower court had sided with the Department of Justice and liberal voting rights groups by ordering Virginia election officials on Friday, less than two weeks out from the 2024 election, to stop a process of cross-checking Department of Motor...
