Freedom 250 Rodeo Aims to Bring Western Tradition to Nation’s Capital

By Emily Hallas | Washington Examiner The American rodeo is coming to Washington, D.C., this summer for the country’s 250th birthday, over four decades since the last presidential rodeo. Freedom 250, an organization linked to President Donald Trump, is spearheading the show set to take place on the National Mall as part of the Great American State Fair, planned from June 25 to July 10. Led by the Cervi Championship Rodeo, organizers are aiming to celebrate 250 years of U.S. history, embodied by the American cowboy, as the United States marks the semiquincentennial. PRCA Chooses Cheyenne Partnership Over Staying in Colorado Springs

By Ashley Eberhardt | KDVR (COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) has announced that it will move from its current headquarters in Colorado Springs to Cheyenne, Wyoming. According to a press release from the PRCA, the Board of Directors has approved a “non-binding memorandum of understanding to seriously consider relocating the organization’s headquarters, along with the PRCA Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy, to Wyoming.” The PRCA said the move to Cheyenne would bring rodeo to a state where rodeo is recognized as the official sport. “The relocation represents a strategic move for the PRCA and underscores Wyoming’s deep-rooted connection to western heritage, rodeo and the cowboy way of life,” the PRCA said. National Western Stock Show Returns to Denver Fueling $175 Million Economic Boost

By Maggie Bryan | Denver7 DENVER — Around 700,000 people are expected to attend the National Western Stock Show (NWSS) in Denver over the next two weeks, boosting local businesses while spotlighting Western culture. NWSS President and CEO Wes Allison said he anticipates a $175 million impact on the city during the 16-day event. "We have folks that come from all 50 states and 33 countries. We are truly worldwide," said Allison. "The mission for us is, you know, really, to be the place where you can learn about the Western spirit."
