Ganahl: Big wins, bigger fights—Colorado conservatives are gaining ground

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice

Grassroots momentum is building—but the Left isn’t backing down

We’ve been in the trenches for a long time here in Colorado. For years, it’s felt like one loss after another—on parental rights, on fiscal responsibility, on election integrity. But something has shifted.

In this week’s episode of Unleashed, I talk about the wins we’re finally starting to see—and why they matter more than ever.

The Tide Is Turning

Across the state, local conservatives are stepping up and taking ground:

  • We’re electing bold, principled leaders to county parties.
  • Grassroots voices are winning school board and city council seats.
  • Citizen journalists are breaking stories the mainstream media won’t touch.
  • Precinct leaders are getting trained, organized, and engaged like never before.

This isn’t just a “moment.” It’s a movement.

We’re done playing defense. We’re going on offense.

But the Left Isn’t Letting Go Quietly

While we’re celebrating victories, the other side is quietly scheming. Here’s what I’m watching:

1. TABOR Is Under Attack

Progressives are pushing a ballot initiative to gut Colorado’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights—one of the last protections we have against runaway spending. They want to kill it under the guise of “reform.” We cannot let that happen.

2. HB25-1312 Is a Trojan Horse

This new law may sound like “clean-up legislation,” but it opens the door to criminalizing conservative speech under vague definitions of media and misinformation. We’re fighting it hard—but we need your voice too.

3. Election Manipulation Is Going Hyperlocal

From software contracts to voter rolls, we’re watching counties get picked off one by one. But when citizens show up, ask questions, and speak truth—it makes a difference.

2026 Starts Now

If you’re waiting for a presidential cycle to “get involved,” you’re already behind. The 2026 races—Governor, AG, Congress, and more—will be won or lost based on what we do right now.

That means:

  • Building strong county parties
  • Recruiting bold candidates
  • Creating parallel media infrastructure
  • Training young conservatives
  • Exposing corruption in real time

I’ve launched the Road Back to Red for exactly this reason. If you want to be part of the remnant that rises—now is the time.

Let’s Keep the Momentum Going

Victory won’t come from Washington. It won’t come from the top down. It will come from you—and me—and all of us rising together.
