DENVER (KDVR) — Four people have been arrested in connection with an incident at an Aurora apartment complex after video was released this summer showing several armed suspects with firearms pointed toward an apartment’s door.
In mid-June, the Aurora Police Department held a press conference to discuss the video, taken at an apartment complex near 6th Avenue and Potomac Street, as well as the resulting investigation and similarities to incidents at the now-closed The Edge at Lowry apartments involving alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
The video shows men positioned in the hallway and stairs outside an apartment unit, guns drawn and pointed at the door. The video shows one man knocking on the door, but the resident did not open the door.
“The scene is very reminiscent of the TDA gang takeover that took place last year,” said Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain during a June press conference on the case.
Police said in June that the people in the unit had moved from Venezuela just two days before, and believe they were victimized by others who immigrated from Venezuela: The criminals the residents had tried to get away from.
On Monday, the agency said it had arrested four of the five people seen on the doorbell camera video of the incident. The suspects and the charges they are facing are:
- Jordan Green, 22, of Aurora
- Arrested in June on two charges of felony menacing with a real or simulated weapon and one charge of carrying a concealed weapon
- Larry Galbreath, 24, of Aurora
- Arrested in June and convicted in August of one charge of menacing with a real or simulated weapon
- Sentenced to two years of probation
- Edgardo Alexander Torres-Vargas, 21, of Venezuela
- Arrested in September and facing two charges of felony menacing with a real or simulated weapon and one charge of possessing a large-capacity magazine
- Johnadel David Mendoza-Queralez, 20, of Venezuela
- Arrested in September and facing two charges of felony menacing with a real or simulated weapon
The fifth suspect has not been identified.
