Aurora Police Arrest Man Deported Three Times After I-225 Shooting

By Kyla Pearce | The Denver Gazette Aurora police officers arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting on I-225 last weekend in what officials described as a case in which camera technology and cooperation with federal immigration agents played a major role. The case also illustrated the stark differences between the cities of Denver and Aurora in how they approach the use of surveillance videos and working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Police on Thursday apprehended Celin Villeda Orellana, 38, on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, menacing and illegal discharge of a firearm, all felonies, according to Acting Assistant Chief Mark Hildebrand in a news conference on Friday. Orellana has been deported three times since 2007. Th...

Colorado Kidnapping Suspect Arrested in Chicago After Months on the Run

By: Jennie Taer | The Daily Wire "It’s no surprise this career criminal chose to flee to sanctuary Chicago where he knows JB Pritzker will protect him from deportation." The sanctuary city of Chicago apparently provided a hiding place for an illegal immigrant who ran from the law in Colorado after a brutal kidnapping. Venezuelan illegal immigrant Jorman Jose Cuba-Zabala allegedly took part in the kidnapping and torture of a migrant couple on December 17, 2024, at an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, that was taken over by members of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua. The apartments, The Edge at Lowry, were also the site of a viral video where armed Tren de Aragua gang members were seen trying to force their way into units. Days after the kidn...

Aurora Gang Investigation Nets Four Arrests, Fifth Suspect Still at Large

By: Heather Willard | KDVR FOX31 DENVER (KDVR) — Four people have been arrested in connection with an incident at an Aurora apartment complex after video was released this summer showing several armed suspects with firearms pointed toward an apartment’s door. In mid-June, the Aurora Police Department held a press conference to discuss the video, taken at an apartment complex near 6th Avenue and Potomac Street, as well as the resulting investigation and similarities to incidents at the now-closed The Edge at Lowry apartments involving alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The video shows men positioned in the hallway and stairs outside an apartment unit, guns drawn and pointed at the door. The video shows one man knocking on the door, but the re...

Chief: Aurora suspect dropped weapon but advanced aggressively before fatal police shooting

By Vicente Arenas | Fox 31 AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) –  New photos of a deadly officer-involved shooting over the Labor Day weekend were released by the Aurora Police Department on Tuesday. The photos were taken by an officer’s body camera during the shooting that left a 37-year-old man dead around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police Chief Todd Chamberlain said an officer who was running radar as part of a DUI enforcement program attempted to stop the driver. The suspect, according to the chief, did not immediately stop but instead kept going and crashed into two cars. The chief said the photos show the suspect exiting the vehicle.  “The individual in the yellow shirt, our suspect, has a gun down to his side, on his right side, with his right arm lowe...

ICE’s gang member deportations linked to sharp drop in Denver, Aurora murder rates

By Warner Todd Huston | Breitbart New data shows that homicides in Denver and Aurora, Colorado, have experienced a significant drop in the wake of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) efforts to take down the Tren de Aragua gang members that had been causing so much chaos in the area. But local Americans are still being killed by President Joe Biden’s migrants, including a 24-year-old woman killed in July of 2024 in Aurora by a 15-year-old reckless illegal-migrant driver. The local prosecutor just offered a sweetheart probation and community service deal to the youth migrant who is now applying for humanitarian asylum. The numbers have taken a significant downturn in the first quarter of 2025, according to data from the Major Cities Chiefs Association, KSUA-TV reported. ...
