Trump HHS Yanks $60,000,000 In Federal Funding From Harvard

By Emily Kopp | Daily Caller The Department of Health and Human Services has canceled another $60 million in grants to Harvard University in the latest strike by the Trump administration against the Ivy League school. The termination of $60 million in Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-related funding was relayed in a May 19 letter obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. Harvard has seen nearly $3 billion in federal grants and contracts frozen or canceled. The university sued the Trump administration on April 21, refusing to negotiate on a series of suggested reforms, including the dissolution of diversity, equity and inclusion, actions toward merit-based hiring, and disciplinary action against violent student groups. The letter cites the findings of the Harvard Pres...

Trump bans federal funding for ‘dangerous’ gain-of-function research

By Brooke Singman  | Fox News President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday banning all federal funding for "dangerous" gain-of-function research in China, Iran and other countries and blocking all federal funding for foreign research that could cause another pandemic.  The president signed the order Monday afternoon to improve the safety and security of biological research in the U.S. and around the world.  The White House said the order "will drastically reduce the potential for lab-related incidents involving gain-of-function research, like that conducted on bat coronaviruses in China by the EcoHealth Alliance and Wuhan Institute of Virology."  Gain-of-function research typically involves modifying a virus to make it more infectious among humans. U.S. added 177,000 jobs in April, better than expected, as economy defies doomsayers

By John Carney | Breitbart Employers in the United States added 177,000 workers to their payrolls in April, the Department of Labor said Friday, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.2 percent, defying predictions of labor market sluggishness following President Trump’s announcement of tariffs. Economists had been expecting 130,000 jobs and an unemployment rate unchanged at 4.2 percent. The prior month’s jobs figure was revised down to 185,000 from 228,000. The strength in hiring came from the private sector, which added 167,000 jobs. Economists had expected private employers to add just 125,000 workers. This was nearly unchanged from the downwardly revised 170,000 jobs added in March. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Iraqi National charged with illegally voting as Dems fight election integrity bill

By Jason Hopkins | Daily Caller Federal prosecutors are accusing an Iraqi national of intentionally voting in the 2020 presidential election, the latest example of a non-citizen unlawfully participating in federal elections. Akeel Abdul Jamiel — a 45-year-old Iraqi man who is not a citizen of the United States — knowingly voted on or around Nov. 3, 2020, in the presidential elections held that year in Saratoga County, New York, according to federal court documents EditSign. The accusation follows a renewed push by Republican lawmakers to pass legislation that would require individuals to provide proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. House GOP adopts Trump budget blueprint after last-minute scramble

By Mychael Schnell | The Hill House Republicans on Thursday adopted the Senate’s framework that will be used to enact key parts of President Trump’s legislative agenda, getting the blueprint over the finish line after a last-minute scramble to win over conservatives who had spent days railing against the measure. The largely party line 216-214 vote marks a big win for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), who has pushed an aggressive timeline to advance Trump’s domestic policy priorities, and President Trump, who endorsed the legislation and lobbied those on the right flank to get on board. Only two Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Victoria Spartz (Ind.) — voted against the measure. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE HILL

House Democrat bucks his own party, comes out in staunch support of Trump’s tariff strategy

By Michael Schwarz | Western Journal President Donald Trump and one of his nominal adversaries have suddenly called to mind two of America’s great early statesmen. In my imagination  — excessively fertile, perhaps — Trump plays the role of Founding Father James Madison, while Trump’s nominal adversary, Democratic Rep. Jared Golden of Maine, has channeled the worthy spirit of a fellow New Englander, John Quincy Adams, son of the great Founding Father John Adams. According to Axios, Golden has taken the very Quincy Adams-like approach of bucking his own party and voicing support for Trump’s controversial-yet-brilliant tariff policy. Maine’s lawsuit against The USDA defends boys in girls’ sports, peddles anti-Trump lies about school lunches

By Breccan F. Thies | The Federalist Maine sued the Trump administration on Monday for freezing federal funds to the state after it refused to ban men in women’s sports. Maine also lied in its lawsuit about threats to school lunches for school children. The lawsuit, brought against the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), claims that the Trump administration cannot revoke federal funding from Maine — despite the fact that USDA found the state “in direct violation of Title IX” because of “Maine’s continual refusal to provide equal opportunity to women and girls in educational programs.” Following the example set out by a shameless Biden administration, which really did have a USDA that threatened the meals of school children if states did not follow their pro-mutilation-and-cast...

EU offers Trump ‘zero-for-zero tariffs’ on industrial goods with United States

By Kurt Zindulka | Breitbart EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Monday that the bloc has offered a “zero-for-zero tariff” trade arrangement on industrial goods with the United States in a bid to avoid a full-on trade war. While the EU chief continued to condemn the reciprocal tariff measures enacted by U.S. President Donald Trump to rectify the long-standing transatlantic trade imbalance, as pressure from the markets began to take shape, Von der Leyen and other top eurocrats expressed willingness to negotiate with the White House. AG Bondi calls attacks on Tesla facilities ‘domestic terrorism’ after two more dealerships targeted

By UPI | Breitbart Attorney General Pam Bondi called a spate of recent attacks targeting Tesla facilities and vehicles “domestic terrorism” Tuesday evening, after two dealerships were the victims of arson overnight. Tesla vehicles and property have increasingly become targets of public backlash since its chief executive officer, Elon Musk, has been leading a controversial reshaping of the federal government through his Department of Government Efficiency. Facilities have been set ablaze, cars have been vandalized and shot at and charging stations graffitied. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART
