Lyman: Here’s who Biden’s FBI decided to persecute rather than hunt down real terrorists

By Brianna Lyman | Commentary, The Federalist Imagine how much worse Wednesday’s deadly event would have been had the FBI not taken dangerous grandmothers off the street? Early Wednesday morning, a radical Islamic terrorist drove his truck through a crowd of people celebrating the start of the new year in New Orleans. Fifteen people were murdered and more than 35 injured. But maybe this tragedy could have been avoided if the FBI spent less time targeting parents, Catholics and countless other dissidents and instead focused its resources on catching actual  terrorists. Shamsud-Din Jabbar plowed through a crowd in his Ford F-150 Lightning EV truck draped with an ISIS flag before shooting at police officers, who fatally shot Jabbar. Jabbar “recently converted to Islam” and ...

Search ongoing for Bourbon Street ‘people of interest’ as state AG vows death penalty

By Anders Hagstrom | Fox News Authorities are still searching for potential accomplices to Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who drove a truck into a New Orleans crowd before being killed in a shootout with police on Wednesday. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill told Fox News that there is evidence that Jabbar worked alongside accomplices to coordinate the attack, although she and other officials have declined to offer specifics. Jabbar's attack killed at least 15 people and wounded dozens of others. "In Louisiana, we have the death penalty, and we will carry it out!" Murrill wrote on X. Jabbar had posted videos to social media prior to his attack expressing allegiance to the Islamic State. The FBI's investigation has now spread across multiple states, though the number of...

The truck used in New Year’s attack crossed the border into the U.S. days ago

By Chris Pandolfo , Anders Hagstrom  | Fox News At least 10 people are dead and dozens injured after a driver plowed a pickup truck into a crowd of New Year's revelers in New Orleans on Wednesday, days after the vehicle was spotted crossing the U.S.-Mexico border into Texas. The driver, a male, reportedly jumped out of the vehicle and opened fire on police after hitting the crowd. The brief shootout ended with the suspect dead at the scene, authorities confirmed. Police say 35 people have been transported to five hospitals across the city after suffering injuries from the attack. Joondeph: Who the hell is running the country?

By Dr. Brian C. Joondeph | Commentary, American Thinker In name, Joe Biden is America’s 46th president. His “signature” is on official documents. He is photographed periodically, whether in the Oval Office, wandering in foreign lands or inappropriately sniffing or nibbling young children. But he is the president in name only.Is Joe Biden even real? As this tweet illustrates, his height varies. In one photo, Donald Trump and Barack Obama are the same height. In another, Obama is taller than Biden, and in another photo, Biden is taller than Trump. Like an Escher print, this optical illusion begs the question of whether there is more than one “Joe Biden.” READ THE FULL COMMENTARY AT AMERICAN THINKER Editor’s note: Opinions expressed in commentary pieces are thos...

Will Colorado’s cage-free egg law increase egg prices in the new year?

By Olivia Young | CBS Colorado With the new year comes a new law in Colorado requiring all eggs sold in the state to come from a cage-free facility. This change has been in the works for the last couple of years. Today, a carton of a dozen eggs in Colorado costs around $4. Three years ago, the national average was $1.79. Cage-free requirements can increase the cost of eggs, but that impact has probably already hit Coloradans' wallets. The real culprit behind the high egg prices is a nationwide egg shortage. In grocery stores across the country, it's become a familiar sight: empty shelves and high prices for eggs. "A couple of weeks ago, there weren't any eggs on the shelf at all," said Whole Foods shopper Christina Panczyk. "I bought them the other day. I think they were a...

In tight vote for Speaker, Johnson could potentially sweep four GOP votes from Colorado

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice A slight Republican margin in the U.S. House will make Speaker Mike Johnson's re-election bid later this week potentially a must-see. Republicans hold a 220-215 seat advantage in the U.S. House, but one Republican has resigned, and two other Republicans have indicated their opposition to Johnson. It takes 218 votes to win the Speaker vote. If Johnson is unable to swing either of the defectors, he doesn't win the Speaker vote — assuming Democratic members don't lend their support. U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, is at least one who has withheld his support for Johnson thus far and told Fox News there were others. He has suggested alternative Speaker options of Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., or Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, both of whom have previously m...
