Tren de Aragua gang member arrested for recruiting at Houston middle school

By Bob Price | Breitbart Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrested a Venezuelan migrant for allegedly recruiting middle school students into the violent Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang. Texas DPS troopers arrested 32-year-old Jorgenys Robertson Cova in Houston on October 7, Fox 26 Houston reported. The arrest of the Venezuelan migrant who entered the U.S. illegally during the Biden-Harris administration sent shockwaves through the southwest Houston community of Sharpstown. Cova is suspected of recruiting middle school students for the Tren de Aragua gang. Residents of the Sharpstown community, where the schools are located, expressed concern over the growing threat. Janice, a local resident, remarked, “A lot of things have happened that are on the news, so if it’s happeni...

Man arrested outside Trump Coachella rally denies assassination intent; he’s ‘all in’ supporting Trump

By Stepheny Price , Bryan Preston | Fox News The man being accused of a potential third assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump spoke with Fox News Digital and says the claims against him are false in his first extended interview since his arrest.  Vem Miller, 49, said he reported the guns to authorities, which he says he always travels with despite never using them, at a checkpoint to get into Trump's Coachella rally on Saturday evening and denied that documents Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said were fake are legit.  His arrest on gun charges sparked speculation, following two assassination attempts on Trump since July. But he was quickly released on $5,000 bail and so far, no federal charges have been filed. READ THE FULL S...

Durden: Joe Rogan Has 25 Days To Interview Donald Trump

By Tyler Durden, Commentary | Zero Hedge I like the Joe Rogan podcast. I’ve watched/listened to it since his very first episode with Graham Hancock back in the #100s series. Not only have I watched/listened to it religiously since then, it also inspired me to start my own podcast, which is going on six years running and has accumulated more than 7 million listens. If there was one thing that brought me to Rogan’s podcast, it was his open-minded approach to all topics and his willingness to discuss and ask questions about anything. I always got the impression Rogan was honest, well-meaning, and genuinely curious during his interviews. Over the last 5 to 10 years, a couple of things have happened. First, Rogan’s podcast has become one of the most listened-to and followed podcasts/me...

Metzger: The hellish process of renewing a vehicle registration in Colorado

By Hannah Metzger, Commentary | Westword It took me a month of phone calls and collecting paperwork, $230 of fines and fees, and four hours of sitting at the Denver Motor Vehicle office to renew my car's registration. For the last two years, I was one of those drivers you see publicly shamed on social media for rolling through town with outrageously expired license plates. My registration expired in July of 2022, making it 27 months out of date when I finally completed the arduous renewal process last Friday, October 4. I bought the car from my mother five years ago, but until last week, it was still registered under her name and address. So all of the registration reminders never reached me. As a downtown resident who rarely drives, I did not notice the registratio...

Hillman: Colorado highways crumble under CDOT neglect

By Mark Hillman, Commentary | Complete Colorado Colorado highways are among the worst in the nation.  That’s hardly news to anyone who travels across our state. Only two states report a larger share of interstate highway in poorer condition than Colorado.  Less-traveled highways are even worse. In 2021, the Democrat-controlled legislature passed a $5.4 billion package of new “fees” – including an annual increase in fuel prices and that irritating 29 cents only Coloradans pay on every Amazon order – supposedly to boost the transportation budget. Despite that infusion of money, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) predicts the condition of every category of state-maintained highways will get even worse over the next seven years.  By 2031, just 25%...

The Free Press: ‘60 Minutes,’ release the unedited Kamala Harris transcript

By The Free Press, Commentary Those of us who have worked in legacy media organizations have a pretty good idea why the so-called “mainstream press” has lost so much of its credibility. They ignore politically inconvenient stories. They rewrite history to suit the needs of the present. They punish wrongthinkers. And they promote ideology at the expense of reality. But for those who still had any remaining doubt, the news out of CBS this week has gone a long way toward answering that question. Over the past few days, we’ve reported on: READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FREE PRESS Editor’s note: Opinions expressed in commentary pieces are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the management of the Rocky Mountain Voice, but eve...

Gov. Polis for Harris: She just had hard time thinking of differences from Biden ‘on the spot’

By Ian Hanchett | Breitbart On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Source,” Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D), who is also a Harris-Walz Surrogate, said that 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris “is a totally different person” from President Joe Biden, but she didn’t mention what she would have done differently because “it’s hard to think of things on the spot.” Host Kaitlan Collins asked, “When she was asked the other day if there was anything that she would have done differently from Biden, she said not a thing that would come to mind. Do you think, on immigration, she should have said, yes, that she would have handled things differently had she been president?” Polis responded, “Well, look, this is a totally different person. So, I’m excited by Kamala Ha...

Turley: Liberals are losing their minds over Elon Musk

By Jonathan Turley, commentary | The Hill This week, Elton John  publicly renounced the Rocket Man — no, not the 1972 song, but Elon Musk, whom he called an “a**hole” in an awards ceremony. Sir Elton, 77, is only the latest among celebrities and pundits to denounce Musk for his support of former president Donald Trump and his opposition to censorship. Musk-mania is so overwhelming that some are calling for his arrest, deportation and debarment from federal contracts. This week, the California Coastal Commission rejected a request from the Air Force for additional launches from Vandenberg Air Force Base. It is not because the military agency did not need the launches. It was not because the nation and the community would not benefit from them. Rather, it was reporte...

‘Lost Innocence’ tells story of accidental drug overdose by Sophia Larson, age 5

By Taylor Cramer | Post-Independent The life of 5-year-old Sophia Larson was tragically cut short on a winter night in 2019, leaving a father shattered and a community grieving. Five years later, father Alec Larson is hoping that a documentary chronicling the death of his daughter and the aftermath will help prevent other children from facing similar tragedy. “It was the worst day of my life and news that no parent should ever have to receive,” Alec Larson said. “It’s so easily preventable and should have never happened, and I’ve had to live with the reality that it happened to my daughter.” A documentary titled “Lost Innocence: The Story of Sophia Larson” is set to release next week, shedding light on the heartbreaking 2019 death. The film aims to not only recount Sophia’s tragic...

Parnes: Democrats fear Harris losing too many male voters to Trump

By Amie Parnes, Commentary | The Hill Democrats are worried Vice President Harris is failing to make inroads with men in the final weeks of the presidential campaign. A string of polls out this week show that while Harris is outperforming former President Trump with women, she is not moving the needle with male voters, in some cases trailing the former president by more than a dozen points in battleground state polls. This week, a New York Times/Siena College survey of likely male voters showed Trump with a sizable lead nationally — 51 percent to 40 percent — over Harris. Democratic strategists have also sounded the alarm that she needs to increase her numbers with Black and Latino men if she wants to defeat Trump, who has increased his numbers with both voting blocs.
