Trump called upon America to "stand united" in an early-morning Truth Social post Sunday, following an assassination attempt on his life Saturday. Mr. Trump had begun only brief remarks Saturday afternoon in Butler, Penn., when shots from an assassin's rifle, interrupting a campaign rally in rural, western Pennsylvania, could be heard on TV broadcasts. He was quickly surrounded by numerous Secret Service agents. As Mr. Trump asked the crowd if he could go "off-script", he presented a chart of border crossing data and the sound of gunfire could be heard on the broadcast.
