The City Council may still override his veto if supporters can secure a supermajority of nine votes. That appears unlikely, as a divided council approved the measure Monday with an 8 to 5 vote. By Judicial Watch Judicial Watch announced today it received a spreadsheet from the District of Columbia Board of Elections revealing that 388 noncitizens voted in DC’s November 2024 general election. While federal law prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections, states and localities may allow noncitizens to vote in local elections. In 2023, the DC Council amended the District of Columbia Election Code of 1955 to allow all noncitizen residents, including illegal aliens, to vote in its local elections.  More than 230 of the noncitizens who voted are registered Democrats, the list shows. District Court Judge Justin B. Haenlein presides in the 13th Judicial District, consisting of Morgan, Logan, Sedgwick, Phillips, Washington, Yuma and Kit Carson counties. The Supreme Court's Nov. 25 order suspended Haenlein with pay, and cited the rule of judicial discipline allowing for judges under investigation to agree to a temporary suspension.
