After $18 million makeover, Arapahoe County’s Dove Valley Regional Park reopens at twice the size

Dove Valley Regional Park underwent an $18 million makeover that began in March 2023. On Monday at noon, the park will reopen. By Nicole Fierro | Fox 31 News Many Coloradans are kicking off their Fourth of July with a road trip to Wyoming. It’s legal to buy and own fireworks there, but not in Colorado. In Colorado, the average person can’t possess, launch or transport most fireworks — and yes, this includes legally buying them in another state and bringing them to Colorado. It’s illegal to launch — or even have — fireworks, except for “permissible fireworks,” according to Colorado Revised Statute 24-33.5-2002. According to Colorado Revised Statute 24-33.5-2005, the law makes it a petty offense to bring fireworks from a different state. John Denver’s music studio, guest house for sale if you have $8.5 million

The house, which is listed with Christie’s International Real Estate, lies along the Starwood subdivision in Aspen. The realtor said that as Denver was a longtime resident of Starwood, his song was “in tribute to the community’s beauty,” according to the listing. Now, it is almost a usual sight to see a few men in groups, squeegees and water bottles in hand approaching cars waiting for the stoplight. The Denver Police Department told FOX31 that this practice is illegal, and a couple of months ago, the department began posting flyers across the city to educate the individuals engaging in window washing. Located in City Park, the zoo unveiled its new logo with the name “Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance” in green text around a lion’s head. The zoo’s Facebook page and website were updated shortly after the announcement. In an announcement posted on Facebook, the zoo said: “Introducing Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance. In honor of the third anniversary of Juneteenth becoming a state holiday, Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera and other members of Colorado’s legislature raised the official Juneteenth flag at the Capitol. Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when the enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, found out they had been freed — two years after President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. It all started in 2018 when county commissioners discussed leaving the 18th Judicial District. “The 18th Judicial District was Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln,” said Douglas County Commissioner Lora Thomas. “We got a law passed in 2020 that will create this brand new district in 2025.” This new district would be the 23rd Judicial District, which would cater more specifically to the needs of people from Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties. The alligator that stole Adam Sandler’s golf ball in the almost 30-year-old film won’t be on set – he’s living out his retirement in Mosca, Colorado. Talks of a sequel to “Happy Gilmore” have been making the rounds in recent months with Sandler letting slip that he was “working on some stuff” for “Happy 2” on the Dan Patrick Show in April. While hints of the film have been released, not much else is known about the sequel, other than the alligator accused of biting off Carl Weathers’ hand and wresting Sandler for the golf ball in the first movie won’t be making another appearance.
