Trump picks Dr. Marty Makary as Food and Drug Administration commissioner

By Brie Stimson | Fox News President-elect Trump on Friday announced he is nominating Johns Hopkins School of Medicine professor Dr. Marty Makary for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner.  "I am very pleased to nominate Marty Makary MD, MPH, FACS, for FDA Commissioner," Trump said in a statement. Egg Shortage and Price Increase Hit U.S. amid Holiday Season

By Amy Furr | Breitbart Americans may find it hard to get eggs this holiday season because of bird flu outbreaks and the economy. There has been a shortage of eggs in some stores across the nation, CBS News reported on Friday, noting the businesses in states that require eggs from cage-free hens have been affected by Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). “More than 40% of the nation’s roughly 300 million egg-laying hens are raised in cage-free facilities, but roughly 60% of ‘bird flu’ cases recently detected involved cage-free farms,” the report continued. There have been outbreaks recently in Utah, Oregon, California, and Washington, per Emily Metz, who is the chief executive and president of the American Egg Board. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

By  Chris Pandolfo | Fox News Richard "Ric" Grenell, the former acting director of National Intelligence in President-elect Trump's first administration, is reportedly under consideration to be special envoy for the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Currently, there is no special envoy responsible for bringing an end to the war in Eastern Europe. Trump is strongly considering whether to create the role, Reuters reported, citing four sources familiar with the president's deliberations. If he does create the new position, Grenell is said to be a leading candidate, though Trump may select someone else, the sources told Reuters. There is also no guarantee that Grenell would accept the position if it were offered to him, the sources reportedly said.  READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

Could DEI be gone? GOP lawmakers prep to clean house in federal government

By Casey Harper | The Center Square President-elect Donald Trump’s win and his subsequent creation of a Department of Government Efficiency have galvanized lawmakers to pave the way for legislation to clean out diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, staff and programs that have ballooned under the Biden-Harris administration. The Center Square was given advance copy of two bills filed Thursday by U.S. Rep. Bob Good, R-La., to end DEI practices at the Department of Housing and Urban Development The first bill, the Flexibility in Housing Act of 2024, would block a Biden-Harris administration rule at HUD. As more Americans warm to Trump, voters shifting to GOP, away from Dems, Pew survey says

By Stephen Dinan | The Washington Times Americans are warmer to President-elect Donald Trump now than they were in 2016 and 2020, according to a new poll that found they believe he’ll steer the economy correctly as he takes office. The Pew Research Center polled nearly 10,000 people after the election and said most expect him to make good decisions about the economy, crime issues, immigration and foreign policy, though they’re less enthused about his ability to unify the country. Some 43% said they have a warm feeling toward Mr. Trump, which while less than a majority is still better than 2016, when 36% felt that way toward him, and 2020, when that was just 34%. Trump's latest Cabinet pick replaces Matt Gaetz, the former Florida representative and nominee for attorney general, who on Thursday withdrew as Trump's pick for the top prosecutor after the "distraction" his nomination had caused due to a swirl of allegations about paying underage women for sex.  "Pam was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, where she was very tough on Violent Criminals, and made the streets safe for Florida Families," Trump wrote in his announcement. "Then, as Florida’s first female Attorney General, she worked to stop the trafficking of deadly drugs, and reduce the...
