John Fabbricatore details ICE detainee process as state pushes back against federal enforcement

By Alliyah Sims | Fox31 DENVER (KDVR) — FOX31 is learning that 105 people were detained at an underground nightclub bust in Colorado Springs over the weekend. That’s down from the original reported count of 114. The Drug Enforcement Administration said nine people had previous contact with immigration officials. The Colorado Springs Police Department told FOX31 that two people were arrested on existing warrants. One was arrested for a warrant out of Denver for assault, criminal mischief and child abuse. The other was wanted in Adams County for a misdemeanor. John Fabbricatore, former ICE Regional Director, told FOX31 that when there are that many people in custody, the process can take a while, and it really matters where people are going. He said that processing one single ...

Final boarding call: Real ID enforcement begins for U.S. air travel May 7

By Shaul Turner | Fox31 DENVER (KDVR) — The countdown is on for Colorado travelers. On May 7, passengers will need a Real ID symbol on their driver’s license or other form of acceptable identification to get through airport security. Those without proper identification may face delays, additional screening and may not be allowed into the security checkpoint. FOX31 found many travelers at Denver International Airport had questions about Real ID requirements. “I don’t know what is it for,” said one concerned airline passenger. The Real ID Act is the result of the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation that the federal government set standards for issuing identification. A Transportation Security Administration spokesperson told FOX31 that Colorado, which has been compliant with t...

Hanson: Trump’s counterrevolution is only beginning

By Victor David Hanson | The Free Press, Commentary No prior modern Republican president has sought to launch a counterrevolution aimed at reversing the economic, political, cultural, social, and military progressive trajectory of the modern era. Trump has done just that—and in his first 100 days—in a comprehensive fashion that perhaps surpasses the ambitious agendas of even the first three months of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal or Ronald Reagan’s efforts to unleash the American free market and win the Cold War. Joondeph: Trump Could Put Hillary Clinton in Charge of Immigration

By Dr. Brian C. Joondeph | Commentary, American Thinker Watching legacy media might give one the impression that President Donald Trump is cleaning house, deporting the tens of millions of illegal aliens allowed into America during the terms of all recent past presidents. And that border czar Tom Homan is leading a scorched earth effort to round up each and every illegal alien and send them packing. At least that’s the perception one might have by watching network or cable news. What is the reality? How are Trump’s “massive” and “unprecedented” deportations going?  Are illegal aliens being rapidly deported as Trump promised in his 2024 presidential campaign? Or is the media gaslighting Americans, pushing a fear porn narrative that is far from reality? How many dep...

Trump makes Whitmer show her face at Michigan event

By Zach Jewell | Daily Wire Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer had nowhere to hide when President Donald Trump called her to the podium to address National Guardsmen in Michigan on Tuesday. Whitmer met Trump at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in southeast Michigan, where the president stopped during his 100 days celebration to announce that the base, which was at risk of shutting down, would receive a new fighter squadron. During his remarks, Trump thanked the governor for her work “trying to save” the base, and then asked her to speak. Whitmer approached the podium and said she “hadn’t planned to speak” at the event. Federal prosecutors charge two Ukrainian nationals with illegally voting in US Presidential Election

By Jason Hopkins | Daily Caller Federal prosecutors have charged two Ukrainian nationals with unlawfully voting in an American presidential election, the latest case of non-citizens allegedly participating in federal elections. The Ukrainian women — 53-year-old Svitlana Demydenko and her 22-year-old daughter, Yelyzaveta Demydenko — are accused of voting in the 2024 presidential election in Palm Beach, Florida, on Oct. 31, according to the Justice Department. The pair made their initial appearance in West Palm Beach federal court Tuesday. In a public statement celebrating the charges, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the Department of Government Efficiency, a cost-cutting initiative within the Trump administration better known as DOGE, assisted with the investigation. ...

US economy slows sharply, shrinking 0.3% in the first quarter, as tariffs weigh

By Eric Revell  | Fox Business The U.S. economy contracted in the first quarter as President Donald Trump's economic agenda took effect, according to new data released on Wednesday. The Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released its advance estimate for first quarter gross domestic product (GDP), which found the U.S. economy contracted at an annual rate of 0.3% in the first quarter, which runs from January through March. Economists surveyed by LSEG had expected the economy to grow at a 0.3% rate in the quarter. The first quarter's 0.3% contraction was slower than the 2.4% GDP growth recorded in the fourth quarter. The quarterly contraction was the first since the first quarter of 2022. The decline in GDP was attributed primarily to an i...

Trump mortifies ABC News reporter with scathing remark on why he was picked for highly sought interview

By Nicholas McEntyre | New York Post President Trump humiliated ABC’s Terry Moran by revealing why he picked him for “the break of a lifetime” in getting to interview him on his 100th day in office. The commander-in-chief put the senior national correspondent in his place during a tense exchange in which Moran challenged him about suspected MS-13 tattoos on deported illegal immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia. “Hey, they’re giving you the big break of a lifetime, you know you’re doing the interview,” Trump said. “I picked you because frankly, I never heard of you. Colorado braces for special session over bloated Medicaid spending amid federal pressure

By John Ingold | Colorado Sun There are now only seven days left in Colorado’s legislative session. But lawmakers and other state officials have for weeks been bracing for the possibility of coming back to the Capitol later this year to deal with potential federal cuts to Medicaid likely to be included in Congressional Republicans’ still-being-written budget proposal. “There certainly are a lot of indicators that would suggest that we might end up having to come back in the event that there’s a dramatic cut to Medicaid,” state Sen. Judy Amabile, a Boulder Democrat and member of the legislature’s Joint Budget Committee, said last month, as first reported in The Colorado Sun’s politics newsletter, The Unaffiliated. Speaking to a group of health care leaders earlier this mo...
