Pro-Israel group denied permit to march, but Pro-Palestinian group got to march in Chicago

By Joel B. Pollak | Breitbart A pro-Israel group that was denied a permit to march during the Democratic National Convention gathered in a makeshift “Hostage Square” in the West Loop on Tuesday to make their voices heard. The original “Hostage Square” is front of an art museum in Tel Aviv, Israel, and was given that name after it became a gathering place for the families of kidnapped and missing Israelis in the wake of the Hamas terror attack of October 7. Like its namesake in Israel, the “Hostage Square” in Chicago features art installations that draw attention to the victims of Hamas — in particular, to U.S. citizens who were murdered or taken hostage. Five American hostages remain: Keith Siegel, 65, Sagui Dekel-Chen, 35, Omer Neutra, 22, Edan Alexander, 20, and Hersh Goldb...

UAW president accuses Republicans of ‘manufacturing’ border crisis, says ‘it’s a joke’

By Fox News United Automobile Workers President Shawn Fain on Tuesday called the ongoing crisis at the southern border a "manufactured crisis" as he accused Republicans of not having read their Bibles in their approach to illegal immigration. "It's a joke. I think it's a manufactured crisis," he said at a roundtable in Chicago, the day after he spoke at the Democratic National Convention. He talked about how people who have had a roof fitted will have had workers who are in the country illegally, and said they are not taking people's jobs. READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX NEWS

Obamas, Bernie Sanders, grandsons of JFK, Carter to speak in tonight’s DNC

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice As the Democratic National Convention moves into its second evening, Democrats are pulling out all the stops with attention-grabbing headliners. In another sure-to-miss Primetime speech, former President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak at 10 p.m. On the first day of the convention, President Joe Biden did not begin speaking until 11:15 p.m. on the East Coast. Speeches to the DNC membership can be viewed on most major news networks. Setting up Obama's speech will be the assembly address by Douglas Emhoff, the husband to presidential nominee Kamala Harris, and by Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the United States, who some Republicans expected to become the Democrats' nominee for President, not Harris. Earlier in the evening, Sen....

Cuccinelli: Maine shows just what’s wrong with ranked-choice voting

By Ken Cuccinelli  | Commentary, Townhall.com Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has qualified for the Maine Presidential ballot in November and in doing so shows just how fraudulent claims in favor of Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) really are. Supporters of RCV falsely promise it will reduce toxic partisanship, increase compromise, and eliminate extremism from our elections, but in reality the costly, confusing, and complex voting practice has been an unmitigated disaster wherever implemented.  RCV requires a voter to rank each candidate on the basis of ‘least bad’ by assigning a numerical designation to the candidate the voter favors most to the candidate the voter favors least. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of first-choice votes in the first round of voting, the l...

The Navy has run out of pants for its working uniform, and it won’t get more until October

By Konstantin Toropin | Military.com The Navy is dealing with what could be called a sartorial crisis: The sea service has run out of pants. And it may not get more for months. Specifically, service officials confirmed Friday that pants for the Navy Working Uniform, or NWU, the go-to uniform for most sailors, are out of stock at Navy Exchanges. Courtney Williams, a spokeswoman for the Navy's Exchange Service Command, told Military.com that it is "experiencing severe shortages of NWU trousers" both in physical stores and online. Democratic Party platform released Sunday calls for re-electing Joe Biden

By Joel B. Pollak | Breitbart The Democratic Party released its official platform on Sunday night, to be voted on at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois — and it calls for reelecting President Joe Biden, who was still the candidate at the time the document was finalized in mid-July. “President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are running to finish the job,” it says. Budget watchdog: Harris’ economic plan would add over $1.7T to national debt

By Eric Revell  | Fox Business A key part of Vice President Kamala Harris' newly released economic agenda would add $1.7 trillion to America's growing national debt, according to a budget watchdog. The plan, dubbed an "Agenda to Lower Costs for American Families," was released Friday as Harris lays out her platform in her campaign for president. It includes expansions of the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit, as well as an extension of the health insurance premium subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) that are due to expire at the end of next year. It would also establish a new $25,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers, expand tax credits for building affordable housing, create a $40 billion housing innovation fund, and seek to lower prescription d...

Sloan: Who loses if Harris wins?

By Kelly Sloan | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Poor Joe Biden. I mean, really, one has to feel at least a little sorry for the guy. One minute the entire Democratic establishment (including, of course, the media) is wallowing in despair over their fortunes this November with Biden remaining at the helm; within a matter of hours, all is sunshine and light in Democrat World, now that Biden --  once the revered elder stateman of the Democratic left, “Joe from Scranton” who could do no wrong in the eyes of the Party and the New York Times  -- has been shunted aside.  That adulatory exuberance and reverential devotion is now being showered on Kamala Harris and her new sidekick Tim Walz. Everyone, and I mean everyone, within the Democratic universe if positively giddy tha...

After Trump says Harris presidency could lead to ‘1929-style depression’, former WH economist warns it could ‘shut down’ entire economy

By Kayla Bailey | Fox Business A former White House economist is sounding the alarm on Vice President Kamala Harris' economic agenda after former President Trump warned the U.S. would suffer a "1929-style depression" under a Harris presidency. "My guess is that a lot of the things she said in the past about what she really wants to do, like the Green New Deal, for example… getting carbon-neutral by 2030 – all that kind of stuff would cause a deep recession toward carbon," Kevin Hassett told "The Big Money Show" Thursday.  "Carbon-neutral by 2030 is almost impossible. 75% of our electricity comes from burning fossil fuels. So how are they going to do that if they try it? That you're just going to have to shut down the economy?" READ THE FULL STORY AT FOX BUSINESS...

Mackowiak: Government control of retirement is not the answer

By Matt Mackowiak  | Commentary, TownHall.com The road to retirement hinges on two distinct paths: building upon the progress we've achieved over the past 50 years or transitioning to a fully government-run system. Americans have suffered in recent years with less money in their pockets amid a struggling economy, and with that struggle comes strong uncertainty about the future of their retirement. The media has painted a grim picture of America's retirement prospects despite the fact that Baby Boomers are the richest retiring generation in U.S. history, and young people are saving earlier than any generation before them. Far-left politicians like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) are capitalizing on the fear-mongering to push a partisan agenda demanding greater government control of...
