Turley: John Kerry says 1st Amendment is the enemy, as elites try to stamp out free speech

By Jonathan Turley | New York Post If you want to know how hostile the global elite are to free speech, look no further than John Kerry’s recent speech to the World Economic Forum. Rather than extol the benefits of democratic liberty versus dictatorships and oligarchs, Kerry called the First Amendment a “major block” to keeping people from believing the “wrong” things. The former secretary of state and aide to the Biden-Harris administration told the sympathetic audience: “You know, there’s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you’re going to have some accountability on facts, etc. But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinfor...

Kamala Harris raised money in California as Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc

By Bradley Devlin  | Daily Signal While millions of Americans come face-to-face with the reality that they no longer have a place to call “home,” Vice President Kamala Harris was campaigning around the country.  Hurricane Helene, a massive Category 4 hurricane, made landfall Thursday in Florida and plowed through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Other states, including Virginia, also have been affected.  Helene claimed the lives of over 175 people and hundreds remained missing after the storm, authorities said.  READ THE FULL STORY AT THE DAILY SIGNAL

Musk blasts FCC for ‘illegally’ pulling Starlink award, says it would’ve helped victims of Hurricane Helene

By  Eric Revell  | Fox Business Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on Wednesday said that the Federal Communications Commission's decision to not move forward with an award for SpaceX's Starlink to provide rural broadband may have cost lives in North Carolina when it was hit by Hurricane Helene. Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, responded to a post on X from a user who noted that "North Carolina would have 19,522 working Starlink kits available today after Hurricane Helene had the FCC not revoked in bad faith the grant that was awarded to SpaceX as the winning bidder." "Had the FCC not illegally revoked the SpaceX Starlink award, it would probably have saved lives in North Carolina," Musk wrote in his response. "Lawfare costs lives." Trifecta of challenges unravel for Harris, White House ahead of Election Day

By Alex Gangitano | The Hill A compounding series of challenges are converging all at once for the White House — port workers are striking, fighting in the Middle East is escalating and Hurricane Helene has ravaged parts of the Southeastern U.S., all while a month away from Election Day. The issues unraveling both domestically and internationally is putting Vice President Harris to the test as she spends the final weeks of her campaign trying to convince voters that the current administration should not be punished at the polls in November. The unfortunate timing of the events has the potential to jolt the presidential race just over a month out, though the neck and neck contest has seen little movement in recent polls over a plethora of other issues. Federal prosecutors urge indefinite delay in second Trump assassination attempt case

By Misty Severi | Just The News Federal prosecutors on Wednesday requested the trial of former President Donald Trump's suspected shooter Ryan Wesley Routh be indefinitely delayed, because of a massive amount of evidence they've uncovered in the past two weeks. Routh allegedly attempted to assassinate Trump last month at his resort in Florida, but the plot was foiled by Secret Service agents. Routh has been charged with attempted assassination, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and assaulting a federal officer. He has pleaded not guilty. The prosecutors argued in a court filing on Wednesday that new details in the case have emerged, which have resulted in more than 100 outstanding subpoena returns, thousands of videos to review, and the sei...

Jack Smith lays out 2020 election case against Trump in newly unsealed filing

By Kaelan Deese | Washington Examiner Special counsel Jack Smith on Wednesday provided additional details on former President Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, offering a plan to disprove what he called Trump’s “false claims” about election fraud and fight against the Supreme Court’s immunity decision. The 165-page motion, unsealed Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, includes new revelations about plans by a Trump campaign employee and alleged co-conspirator to incite chaos at a ballot-processing center in Detroit. According to one section of the lengthy filing, a 2020 Trump campaign employee allegedly aimed to disrupt operations at Detroit’s TCF Center, a key site for vote counting in Michigan. Griswold: If Kamala has such great plans, why hasn’t she implemented them?

By Kylee Griswold | Commentary, The Federalist Kamala Harris has been VP for three and a half years, and her policies have only exacerbated Americans’ biggest problems. Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz spent an awful lot of time during Tuesday’s vice presidential debate talking about what he and Kamala Harris would do on “day one” and beyond if Americans (and Big Tech oligarchs) elect them this November. The problem? As Sen. J.D Vance, R-Ohio, pointed out, Kamala Harris’ “day one” was nearly 1,400 days ago. If Harris wants to help struggling Americans, why hasn’t she? She does hold the second-highest office in the land, after all. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE FEDERALIST Editor’s note: Opinions expressed in commentary pieces are those of the author and do not nece...

Harris’ migration pushes up housing costs, crowds schools and fills hospitals, J.D. Vance says in debate

By Neil Munro  | Breitbart The mass migration supported by Kamala Harris crowds American schools, fills hospitals, and drives up the cost of family housing, Sen. JD Vance told the viewers watching CBS News’s vice presidential debate. “The people that I’m most worried about in Springfield, Ohio, are the American citizens who have had their lives destroyed by Kamala Harris’s open border,” he said, before turning to the Democratic candidate, Tim Walz. "It is a disgrace. Tim [Walz], and I actually think I agree with you. I think you want to solve this problem, but I don’t think that Kamala Harris does." READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

‘Harris is engaged in censorship on an industrial scale,’ Vance says

By Breccan F. Thies | The Federalist The Republican vice presidential hopeful slammed his Democrat opponents for trying to rig the election by cracking down on Americans’ free speech. Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, called out Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., for wanting to implement a mass censorship regime, blocking Americans from practicing their First Amendment rights. “I believe we actually do have a threat to democracy in this country. Unfortunately, it’s not the threat to democracy that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz want to talk about. It is the threat of censorship,” Vance said at Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate. “It’s Kamala Harris saying that rather than debating and persuading fellow Americans, she would like to censor people who engage in misinfo...
