Trump says Biden’s autopen pardons are ‘void, vacant and of no further force or effect,’ vows probe of Jan. 6 House select committee

By Richard Pollina | New York Post President Trump said early Monday that he was voiding all the last-minute pardons former President Joe Biden made using autopen. “The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen,” Trump posted on Truth Social early Monday morning. “In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them!” he said of the oldest-ever president and concerns at his age-related mental abilities at 82. US envoy Witkoff leaves Moscow without cease-fire agreement after Putin rejects Trump’s terms

By Caitlin Doornbos | New York Post Special presidential envoy Steve Witkoff left Moscow on Friday without a cease-fire deal in hand after Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected President Trump’s terms to begin winding down the war with Ukraine. Putin met with Witkoff late Thursday after having kept the American waiting since roughly 12:30 p.m., according to flight tracking data and Russian reports, but ultimately sent him home with “signals” for Trump, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov told reporters. “A lot still needs to be done,” Peskov said of the cease-fire agreement, noting that Witkoff “presented additional information to the Russian side.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

Government shutdown likely after Schumer says Senate Dems will block GOP funding bill

By Ryan King and Josh Christensen | New York Post Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced Wednesday that most Democrats in the upper chamber will not support a House Republican-passed bill to fund the federal government through the end of September, all but ensuring a partial shutdown beginning at 11:59 p.m. Friday. “Funding the government should be a bipartisan effort, but Republicans chose a partisan path, drafting their [continuing resolution] without any input — any input — from congressional Democrats,” Schumer (D-NY) said on the Senate floor Wednesday.  “Because of that, Republicans do not have the votes in the Senate to invoke cloture on the House CR. Our caucus is unified on a clean [CR through April 11] that will keep th...

Israel says it will only extend Gaza cease-fire deal if hostage deal passed

By Reuters via The New York Post Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said Tuesday Israel was ready to proceed to the second phase of the Gaza cease-fire deal, as long as Hamas was ready to release more of the 59 hostages it is still holding. Fighting in Gaza has been halted since January 19 under a truce arranged with US support and Qatari and Egyptian mediators, and Hamas has exchanged 33 Israeli hostages and five Thais for some 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees. But the initial 42-day truce has expired and Hamas and Israel, which has blocked the entry of aid trucks into Gaza, remain far apart on broader issues including the postwar governance of Gaza and the future of Hamas itself. Tim Walz says he may run for president in 2028 — despite failure of Harris campaign

By Isabel Keane | New York Post Failed 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has said he would “certainly consider” running for president in 2028 — despite his crushing defeat alongside then-Vice President Kamala Harris this past November. “Look, I never had an ambition to be president or vice president. I was honored to be asked,” the Minnesota governor told “the New Yorker Radio Hour” on Sunday. “If I feel I can serve, I will. And if nationally, people are like, ‘Dude we tried you, and look how that worked out,’ I’m good with that.”  “If I think I could offer something … I would certainly consider that.” READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

American Airlines flight aborts landing at DC’s Reagan Airport in near-miss with departing plane in latest aviation mishap

By Emily Crane | New York Post An American Airlines flight was forced to abort its landing at Washington DC’s Ronald Reagan National Airport to avoid a plane taking off on the same runway — less than a month after a midair collision killed 67 people near the same airport. The incident unfolded as the Airbus A319, which was en route from Boston, was preparing to touch down just before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the Federal Aviation Administration said. “An air traffic controller instructed American Flight 2246 to perform a go-around at Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) Airport to ensure separation was maintained between this aircraft and a preceding departure from the same runway,” FAA officials said. Kremlin denies Trump’s claim that Putin is ready for peacekeepers in Ukraine

By Diana Glebova | New York Post The Kremlin on Tuesday rebutted President Trump’s claim that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is ready for European peacekeepers to be installed in Ukraine. “There is a position on this matter that was expressed by Russian Foreign Minister [Sergey] Lavrov,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press conference. “Russia media site TASS reported. I have nothing to add to this and nothing to comment on.” Peskov was referring to Lavrov’s recent remarks asserting that Russia would find it unacceptable if NATO-aligned troops were put in Ukraine after a peace deal is negotiated. By The Associated Press Via The New York Post Pope Francis woke up and was continuing his therapies Monday after a quiet night, on the 10th day of his hospitalization for a complex lung infection that has provoked the early stages of kidney insufficiency, the Vatican said. “The night passed well, the pope slept and is resting,” it said. The 88-year-old pope is continuing to feed himself and is not receiving artificial or liquid nutrition, the Vatican said, adding that he was in good spirits. A medical bulletin was expected later in the day. READ THE FULL STORY ON THE NEW YORK POST
