What World Cup visitors discovered beyond America’s headlines

By Mikale Olson | Commentary, The Christian Post Something has happened over the last week that I never expected, and I say that regretfully. I say it regretfully because I, like so many other Americans, had all but forgotten how truly remarkable this country is. And not just the country itself, with the architecture of our cities and the breathtaking landscapes of our national parks. I’m talking about the people. We the people. I had truly forgotten how distinctly amazing the citizens of the United States are. And of all things, what did it take to remind me of this? A bunch of Europeans traveling here for the World Cup, to, oddly enough, enjoy a sport that Americans aren’t necessarily all that fond of. That’s right. The biggest soccer, or football (I’m rolling my eyes ...

School Board Pays $95K After Censoring Student Tribute to Charlie Kirk

By Michael Gryboski | The Christian Post Officials violated student's First, Fourth and 14th Amendment rights. A North Carolina school district has agreed to pay $95,000 in attorneys' fees and damages after censoring an on-campus student tribute to conservative Christian activist Charlie Kirk. Last year, a high school student and her parents sued the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education over a painted tribute to Kirk that was removed shortly after it was completed.   The nonprofit legal organization Alliance Defending Freedom, which represented the student, announced Monday that it had reached a settlement with school district officials over the lawsuit. Per the settlement, the board of education agreed to pay $95,000 in assorted fees...

“A shift in history”: Worshippers at Rededicate 250 say America’s renewal begins with God

By Ryan Foley | The Christian Post WASHINGTON — Thousands gathered on the National Mall Sunday for a historic day of national prayer and worship ahead of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with attendees expressing hope for a spiritual renewal and a cultural shift in American society.  Christians from around the world braved occasional light rain, hot weather and long security lines to participate in Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving. Several prominent religious leaders and Trump administration officials addressed the crowd, which extended beyond rows of chairs to blankets spread across the grass with the U.S. Capitol in the background. Rededicate 250 is one of several events planned as p...

4 highlights from Rededicate 250: Faith leaders call America back to God

By Jon Brown | The Christian Post WASHINGTON — Several high-profile Christian speakers addressed thousands who gathered Sunday on the National Mall for Rededicate 250: A National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving, an all-day prayer and worship festival ahead of the 250th anniversary of United States independence. Held to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the Second Continental Congress designating "a day of humiliation, fasting, and prayers" amid the trials of the Revolutionary War, several prominent faith leaders and Trump administration officials who spoke at the event stressed the importance of returning to that same spirit of humble repentance and reliance upon the Lord. Several attendees from around the country who spoke to The Christian Pos...

RFK Jr Launches Major Push To Reduce Antidepressant Overprescribing

By Jon Brown | The Christian Post Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced a sweeping new initiative earlier this week to reduce what he characterized as the overprescription of antidepressant selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other psychotropic medications, especially for children. "Psychiatric medications have a role in care, but we will no longer treat them as the default," Kennedy said at a Monday summit on mental health and overmedicalization hosted by the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Institute in Washington, D.C. "We will treat them as one option, to be used when appropriate, with full transparency and with a clear path off when they are no longer needed." The plan being rolled out by HHS emphasiz...

CIA report flagged motherhood as extremism indicator before quiet retraction

By Ryan Foley | The Christian Post The Central Intelligence Agency retracted a Biden-era internal document warning about female “racially and ethnically motivated violent extremists" that listed the prioritization of “motherhood and homemaking," raising the concern of a conservative legal group.  In a thread posted to X last week, the legal organization America First Legal, founded by Trump adviser Stephen Miller in 2021, shared screenshots of a now-retracted intelligence assessment compiled during the Biden administration. The document, titled “Women Advancing White Racially and Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists,” outlines concerns about women’s participation in “white racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism.” The intelligence assessme...

After 47 years: Could Iran be nearing a turning point?

By Wendy YurgO | Commentary, The Christian Post For 47 years, the Islamic Republic has done everything in its power to crush any light that refuses to submit to its rule. Public conversion from Islam is apostasy under Iranian law —punishable by imprisonment, flogging, long-term solitary confinement, or execution. House churches are raided in the night. Bibles are seized. Pastors are arrested and interrogated for months, sometimes years. Families are threatened. Believers lose jobs, homes, and relationships. Yet the underground church in Iran has not only survived—it has grown at a pace that many call one of the fastest in the world. Ministries tracking the movement — Elam Ministries, Transform Iran, Operation World, and others — estimate between one to three million Muslim-ba...
