Givas: Deportations Back On the Table as Trump Scores Major Court Victory

By Nick Givas | Commentary, The Western Journal The Supreme Court handed President Donald Trump a huge win Monday on immigration, ruling that his administration could continue deporting illegal aliens to countries other than their own. The high court stated that in addition to being able to deport them to other countries, illegal immigrants would no longer be granted a “chance to show the harms they could face” if they were kicked out of the United States, as Reuters reported. The vote was 6-3, with the conservative majority banding together against the court’s liberal bloc to reverse a lower court order. The ruling was short and unsigned, but the three liberal judges issued a joint dissent, led by Obama appointee Justice Sonia Sotomayor. ...

Joondeph: Is MAGA Still on Track After the Escalator Ride 10 Years Ago?

By Dr. Brian C. Joondeph | Commentary, American Thinker Businessman and T.V. personality Donald Trump descended the golden escalator at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan on June 16, 2015 to announce his bid to become president of the United States.  Trump was seen as a novelty candidate, running mainly to boost his ego and promote The Apprentice or his next entertainment project. His polling before the ride was weak. Monmouth University showed Trump at 2%, tied with Carly Fiorina and Lindsey Graham, ahead of only Bobby Jindal and John Kasich. He trailed the rest of the field, including Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, and Ben Carson.  But two months later, in August 2015, the same poll showed Trump with a 26% lead in the Rep...

Terror Risks Ignored as Over 700 Iranian Nationals Set Loose in America

By Greg Wehner , Bill Melugin | Fox News Trump's decisive action against Iran raises alarm about security risks following Biden's release of 729 special interest aliens. Over 1,500 Iranian nationals who illegally entered the U.S. at the southern border were arrested during the Biden administration, and nearly 50% of them were released back into the country, according to a senior U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) source. More specifically, Border Patrol agents arrested 1,504 Iranian nationals from fiscal year 2021 through fiscal year 2024. Of the 1,504 individuals who were arrested, 729 were released into the U.S. The number of Iranian nationals arrested at the southern border increased year-to-year, with 48 being arrested in FY21; 197 in FY22; 462 in FY23 and 797 in FY24...

Rep. Gonzalez: States can’t solve immigration chaos without congressional action

Rep. Ryan Gonzalez | Commentary, Complete Colorado There’s no denying we have a broken immigration system. For decades, meaningful reform to solve this very complex issue has failed to take root. The people have wanted a fair and more streamlined immigration process that protects national security, but also is just and humane. Given the very heated climate we find ourselves in today, with riots and anarchy playing out in the streets, I have to speak up. I will not let the media speak for me. I won’t let anyone speak for me. As a Colorado state legislator and a son of immigrants, I know this issue on a personal level. My parents are immigrants. My mom is a resident and my dad is a citizen. They told me we all need a hand up sometimes but never handouts. I know many undocumented ...

Garbo: Immigration policy should serve America, not exploit it

By C. J. Garbo | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Let’s set the record straight. Immigration is not a right. Not under the U.S. Constitution. Not under international law. Not by any moral, legal, or civil standard.  It is a privilege, and one granted by a sovereign nation to those who respect its laws, value its principles, and are willing to contribute to its future.  That privilege, once respected and coveted as one of the greatest honors in the world, is now under relentless attack - distorted by entitlement, corrupted by politics, and weaponized by those who seek to benefit without belonging. To understand this clearly, let’s use a comparison everyone can relate to: driving a car. The Driving Analogy Driving isn’t a right. It’s a regulated privilege. I...

Congressman Jeff Hurd backs ICE enforcement: “We need to follow the law”

By Wylee Mitchell | KJCT8 News GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - “I don’t think this is a republican issue or democratic issue. This is an issue of economic security, national security, and we need to follow the law,” Congressman Jeff Hurd said. Despite ongoing ICE protests across the country, the Department of Homeland Security said they will continue to crack on illegal immigration. Congressman Hurd represents the 3rd District in Colorado, which includes Mesa County. He said removing criminals who are in the country illegally should be a top priority. “Being here in the United States illegally is a is a violation of federal law. But I think what we’ve seen is certainly a focus on the individuals that are here illegally, that have committed additional crimes.” While we may not...

Released and reloaded: Montrose bond records show cracks feeding Colorado’s criminal underworld

By Jen Schumann | Rocky Mountain Voice When a Montrose County woman was released on a $0 personal recognizance bond after skipping court in late 2023, it wasn’t her first time facing charges. It wouldn’t be her last either. Within nine months, she was arrested again – this time for second degree assault, harassment and criminal attempt. Her story is not an outlier. It is a warning. “There’s a revolving door with criminals or serious crime,” said Montrose County Sheriff Gene Lillard in a recent interview with RMV. “Last month we picked up one person five times – they were released on PR bond. There’s no consequences.” To illustrate how Colorado laws are contributing to rising crime and lawlessness, Sheriff Lillard prepared and shared a document showing just one small snapshot in ti...

Garbo: Sanctuary policies led to chaos—and now they’re blaming ICE

By C. J. Garbo | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice The chaos unfolding in Los Angeles isn’t just disturbing, it’s the natural result of years of political cowardice and ideological extremism. The riots erupting in response to ICE’s lawful enforcement of deportation orders are not acts of civil disobedience. They are acts of defiance against the rule of law itself. And the blame lies squarely at the feet of Democratic leadership in California, who declared Los Angeles a “sanctuary city,” emboldening illegal activity while abandoning their sworn duty to protect American citizens. Let’s be clear: no elected official has the right to nullify federal law to score political points. Yet that’s exactly what California’s leadership has done - undermining immigration enforcement, encourag...

‘So, arrest me’: Newsom taunts border czar as ICE riots rage

By Zach Jewell | Daily Wire "Let your hands off these poor people. They’re just trying to live their lives, man." California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom condemned the Trump administration on Sunday and dared border czar Tom Homan to arrest him amid the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles County. Trump drew the ire of California Democrats, such as Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, after he deployed the National Guard to shut down the riots that broke out over the weekend. Homan then warned Newsom and Bass against impeding federal law enforcement officers and threatened them with arrest if they “cross[ed]” the line.” The California governor shot back, imploring the Trump administration to keep their “hands off these poor people” who are “just trying to live their lives.” “He...

ICE’s gang member deportations linked to sharp drop in Denver, Aurora murder rates

By Warner Todd Huston | Breitbart New data shows that homicides in Denver and Aurora, Colorado, have experienced a significant drop in the wake of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) efforts to take down the Tren de Aragua gang members that had been causing so much chaos in the area. But local Americans are still being killed by President Joe Biden’s migrants, including a 24-year-old woman killed in July of 2024 in Aurora by a 15-year-old reckless illegal-migrant driver. The local prosecutor just offered a sweetheart probation and community service deal to the youth migrant who is now applying for humanitarian asylum. The numbers have taken a significant downturn in the first quarter of 2025, according to data from the Major Cities Chiefs Association, KSUA-TV reported. ...
