By Michael Gryboski | The Christian Post Officials violated student's First, Fourth and 14th Amendment rights. A North Carolina school district has agreed to pay $95,000 in attorneys' fees and damages after censoring an on-campus student tribute to conservative Christian activist Charlie Kirk. Last year, a high school student and her parents sued the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education over a painted tribute to Kirk that was removed shortly after it was completed.   The nonprofit legal organization Alliance Defending Freedom, which represented the student, announced Monday that it had reached a settlement with school district officials over the lawsuit. Per the settlement, the board of education agreed to pay $95,000 in assorted fees...

The courage to say “Here I am” when the world feels broken

By Melanie Sturm | Commentary, Think Again USA Substack Rosh Hashanah reflections inspired by Christian grace and a Buddhist parable about what we “carry in our cups.” Each year, I write my High Holiday reflections as an offering — a search for inspiration that might move us to be blessings in a world that needs them. This Rosh Hashanah message struck a chord, so I’m sharing it here — at the end of a momentous week of hope and release, and on the eve of Shabbat — a little Sabbath reading to help recharge your spiritual batteries. Below is the video of my Rosh Hashanah remarks and below that is a lightly edited version of what I shared that evening. In this sixth year of sermonizing at Temple HilMel, I thought I had it down. My plan was to spend Elul — the month of preparati...

Trump Honors Charlie Kirk with Posthumous Medal of Freedom

By: Dmitri Bolt | Townhall President Trump has posthumously awarded Turning Point USA Founder and legendary conservative activist Charlie Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor, on Tuesday.  The ceremony took place in the White House Rose Garden on what would have been Charlie Kirk’s 32nd birthday. It was supposed to take place indoors due to bad weather, but the President told Charlie's widow, Erika Kirk, that "God was watching, and he didn't want that for Charlie." The White House saw nothing but sunshine for the ceremony. https://twitter.com/WhiteHouse/status/1978206858453106714 The President, in his speech, credited Charlie with helping him win the presidential election in 2024 and described him as a "fearless warrior for liberty." ...

The sword is passed: Honoring Charlie Kirk’s bold stand for truth

By Pastor Drake Hunter | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.”  ~  Matthew 25:23 ~ As we conclude this series on The Sword of the Spirit, my heart feels both heavy and hopeful. Heavy, because we mourn the loss of a strong, confident voice for truth and a dear friend of Rocky Mountain Voice—Charlie Kirk. Hopeful, because his legacy shows us the trail we are called to follow, with no exceptions, and in my opinion, there is no better way to close this powerful series. I was fortunate to be with Heidi Ganahl, founder of RMV, along with her daughter, Hollie, a Valor High School student, Vice President of the new Turning Point USA chapter, and former Denver Bronco Derek Wolfe, back in April of this year, wh...

Glenn Beck delivers 9 transformational truths at TPUSA event

By Joseph MacKinnon | The Blaze Beck indicates he was readying to turn his radio slot over to Kirk ahead of the TPUSA founder's assassination. Honoring his promise to his faithfully departed friend, Beck took the stage alone on Thursday to a packed house at the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center on the University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks. https://twitter.com/TPUSA/status/1976443245606715806 In addition to discussing American greatness and the moral complexity of U.S. history with the aid of artifacts from his vast museum collection — an American history collection he claims trumps all others in size with the exception...

Has the Left Grown Too Comfortable With Political Violence?

By Michael Barone | Commentary, Washington Examiner Why are so many Democrats fond of wishing death on their opponents? That’s a question raised by two astonishing developments early this month. On Oct. 3, National Review’s Audrey Fahlberg revealed texts Jay Jones had sent, perhaps mistakenly, to a Democratic colleague, bemoaning the cordial remarks the then-Republican speaker was delivering after the death of a Democrat. “If these guys die before me,” he wrote, “I will go to their funerals to p— on their graves, Send them awash in something.” Prompted, he goes on. “Three people, two bullets. Gilbert” — the Republican speaker — “hitler, and pol pot. Gilbert gets two bullets in the head. Spoiler: put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people you ...

Expert weighs in: Prosecution’s weak spot surfaces in Charlie Kirk assassination case

By Michael Ruiz | Fox News Text messages between Tyler Robinson and partner lack timestamps while crime scene return timing disputed PROVO, Utah — One of the biggest vulnerabilities in the case against Charlie Kirk's accused assassin, Tyler Robinson, could be the prosecution's timeline, according to a prominent Utah defense attorney — and she expects the defense to drag discovery in the case on for up to a year before he finally gets a preliminary hearing. Kirk, a 31-year-old father of two, was shot and killed around 12:20 p.m. on Sept. 10 while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. He was a founder of the conservative student group, which had a national footprint and is credited for a resurgence of youth support for the Republican Party. "There’s jus...
