Feds using Colorado airport to deport ICE detainees—in large numbers

(KRDO) – An airport near Denver is being used by the U.S. Coast Guard to transport Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees to Texas and California for deportation, our Denver news affiliate 9NEWS has confirmed. According to 9NEWS, at least three large U.S. Coast Guard cargo planes were spotted at Centennial airport in Englewood last Thursday, Friday and Monday. District Court Judge Charlotte N. Sweeney cited the high court’s weekend order barring removal of anyone from North Texas, where the ACLU had contended the administration was preparing to deport Venezuelans under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 without giving them the legal notice required under a prior Supreme Court ruling. By  Lexi Lonas Cochran | The Hill A judge in former Columbia University activist Mahmoud Khalil’s case ruled against him Friday, finding he is eligible for deportation while giving his legal team a little less than two weeks to respond. Jamee Comans, an immigration judge in Louisiana, found the government’s case is “facially reasonable.” She gave his team until April 23 to file its response. Circuit will hear oral arguments Monday on whether a lower court can properly address the Trump administration's efforts to deport Venezuelan nationals via a 1798 wartime law.  The administration asked for a stay pending appeal shortly after an initial March 15 order was issued, calling it a "massive, unauthorized imposition on the Executive’s authority to remove dangerous aliens who pose threats to the American people." A massive raid targeting over 100 Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members last week ended with only 30 arrests, and of those only one was TdA, as reported on X by Fox News' Bill Melugin, who was embedded in a pre-dawn raid at the now-infamous Edge Apartments in Lowry, Colo. A local news source, Denverite, documented the raid from inside the apartment complex where they stayed the night. It’s unclear how the media organization knew of the raids beforehand.
