When gun rights depend on the judge: New study reveals disparities in DVPO cases

By Cory Gaines | Colorado Accountability Project Disparities in court orders for DVPO's Federal law prohibits the possession or purchase of firearms for certain people who have domestic violence protection orders (DVPO). Some states go further and require anyone who is subject to such an order to relinquish their firearms for the duration of the order. The study linked first below takes a look at the results of a Washington State law (which is one of the states which requires a respondent in a DVPO case to relinquish their firearms) and compares the outcomes of court cases to race. Quoting the abstract: "Historically, U.S. laws and institutions have privileged White men with firearm access over minoritized individuals, but little is known about whether racial disparities...

DHS: Venezuelan gang member charged in Aurora killing entered U.S. illegally in 2023

By BorderHawkNews | BorderHawkNews An illegal alien with ties to Tren de Aragua who was released into the U.S. by the Biden regime has been charged with shooting his own wife and killing his sister-in-law in Colorado this week, according to authorities. The horrifying incident unfolded at around 3 a.m. on Sunday morning in Aurora, a Denver suburb flooded with Venezuelan gangbangers in recent years. Investigators believe Michel Jordan Castellano Fonseca, 30, became embroiled in a violent domestic dispute at an apartment before threatening to return with a firearm. No parole for poison: Colorado dentist gets life for wife’s murder

The Associated Press via The Epoch Times CENTENNIAL, Colo.—A Colorado dentist was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday after being convicted of killing his wife by lacing her protein shakes with poison before delivering a fatal dose of cyanide when she was in the hospital. District Judge Shay Whitaker sentenced James Craig to life without the possibility of parole, the mandatory sentence for a first-degree murder conviction in Colorado. He was convicted of murder and other charges by a jury, which rejected his claim that he had helped his wife kill herself after he said he wanted a divorce following his repeated extramarital affairs. Prosecutors said at trial that James Craig poisoned his wife Angela Craig over 10 days in March 2023. When those attempts failed, prosecutors said, ...

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) gushed over Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff on Wednesday night applauding him as the very model of modern masculinity at a campaign event for his wife Kamala Harris. “He’s not afraid to embody and pass on these values of security and this idea that you can, you can let your girl shine,” Ocasio-Cortez told a room full of students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, according to the Daily Mail. “And he embodies that really well. We should all be really, really proud of him.” She told students the example Emhoff has set “has been incredibly important this presidential cycle.” READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Ex-girlfriend comes forward to accuse Doug Emhoff of domestic violence

By John Nolte | Breitbart An ex-girlfriend of America’s Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, has come forward to accuse the man who hopes to be history’s first First Gentleman of physically assaulting her in 2012. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, the woman, who is remaining anonymous for obvious reasons (we’ve all seen what the corporate media and Democrats do to women whose accusations — no matter how credible — threaten the left’s hold on power), says she decided to come forward for two reasons. The first is that Emhoff, though a spokesman, denied he hit her. The second, per the Daily Mail, is that “his alleged hypocrisy by claiming to be a feminist in media interviews, finally became too much for her.” “What’s frightening for a woman that’s been on the ...
