Poll aggregators show Trump leading in battleground states, up big in “no toss up” map projection

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice With a dozen days remaining until Election Day, the race for the White House between former President Donald Trump, a Republican, and Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat, could not be closer, according to three poll aggregators. Harris holds a 0.2% edge in the national average at Real Clear Politics, but that is where the good news ends for her campaign. In the top battleground states of Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia, Trump is leading the polls and overall has a 0.9% lead in top battleground states, Real Clear Politics projects. Real Clear Politics presently gives Trump a four-point Electoral College edge, 219-215, with nine states placed into "toss up" category for an additional 104 Elect...

Kamala Harris greatly exaggerated prosecutorial record during district attorney campaign

By James Lynch | National Review Vice President Kamala Harris exaggerated her trial experience when she first ran for San Francisco district attorney just over two decades ago, greatly overstating the number of felony cases she prosecuted in order to bolster her image as the tough-but-fair prosecutor San Franciscans needed to set the city straight. Harris’s overstatements about her prosecutorial record, central to her pitch as a candidate who would clean up inner-city crime, became a point of attack throughout the campaign from opponents who questioned her level of experience. “As Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County from 1990 to 1998, Kamala prosecuted hundreds of serious and violent felonies, including homicide, rape and child sexual assault cases,” Harris’s campaign bio s...

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice The first daily release of returned ballot-count from the office of Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold indicates Democrats have a 3.6% edge over Republicans in ballots returned. Democrats have returned 200,905 of the 630,782 ballots, or about 31.9%. Republicans, who make up about 28.0% of registrations, have cast 178,383 ballots, or about 28.3% of ballots returned. Democratic voters comprise about 26.1% of all voters statewide and Republicans comprise about 23.3%, meaning Democratic voters have voted at a rate outperforming registrations by 5.8% and Republicans by a rate outperforming registrations by about 5%. Unaffiliated voters, which account for 48.5% of all registrations, have underperformed with 39.6% of ballots cast. The secreta...

Could illegal immigration sway elections in swing states?

By Unleash Prosperity Our friend Jon Sutz has reported in his “Fact Check” blog that illegal immigration numbers have roughly quadrupled in the seven swing states under Biden. Funny how that was allowed to happen. As we’ve noted in previous HOTLINE issues, if even a small fraction of these non-citizens cast ballots in the razor-tight races in these battleground states, it could decide who the next president is. Makes you wonder why liberals are so opposed to requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration. READ THE FULL STORY AT UNLEASH PROSPERITY

Ganahl: Rinard the right choice for University of Colorado regent at-large

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice The race for University of Colorado regent at-large in 2024 is shaping up to be a critical contest that will determine the future direction of the University of Colorado system. Two candidates, Eric Rinard and Elliott Hood, are vying for the position, offering voters a clear choice in their vision for the state's flagship university. While Hood emphasizes affordability and inclusivity, Rinard brings a unique focus on preserving free speech, promoting diverse viewpoints, and addressing concerns about governance that transcend party lines. A key moment in Rinard's campaign came with the endorsement of former U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell, a highly respected figure in Colorado politics known for his bipartisan achievements. Campb...

Biden-Harris admin shipping migrants to Arizona and Texas to hide border problem before Election Day: ‘It’s about optics’

By Jennie Taer | New York Post With just two weeks until the presidential election, the Biden-Harris administration is working overtime to hide its illegal migrant problem from the public’s view, furious Border Patrol agents say. ICE has been ordered to speed up deportations. And Border Patrol agents are busing and flying migrants from San Diego — where arrivals are still double what they were when President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office, Homeland Security sources told The Post. They’re being sent to border towns in Texas and Arizona, which have far fewer migrants. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE NEW YORK POST

Daniel: My fellow hunters, anglers and 2A advocates, won’t you join me and vote?

By Bobbie Daniel | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Dear fellow Colorado hunter, angler and 2A advocate, I am reaching out with a simple but important message: vote. I know you are busy — between work, family and gearing up for the upcoming hunting season, life is full. Our family is right there with you, making sure our rifles are sighted in, tags are purchased, gear is ready, and we have scouted our hunting areas. But, with so much at stake in this election, none of us can afford to be too busy to protect our Western heritage by casting our vote. If you are like us, you have probably spent more time planning a hunting trip or drawing a tag than it takes to register to vote and fill out a ballot. And yet, those few minutes of voting could have a far greater impact on our way o...

In anti-Trump rant, Biden blurts out: ‘We gotta lock him up’

By Hailey Gomez | Daily Caller President Joe Biden said Tuesday at New Hampshire’s Democratic National Committee (DNC) office that the party needs to “lock up” former President Donald Trump, quickly adding he meant to “politically” lock him up. Since 2019, Democrats have been calling for Trump to be behind bars, flipping the script on their previous criticism of Republicans and the former president for calling for former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to be locked up. While speaking to the DNC office in Concord, New Hampshire, Biden noted how close the race is becoming, claiming Trump believes he has immunity from “physically eliminating” threats. “All of it’s on a knife’s edge. It’s on a knife’s edge right now. So this is really, really, really, reall...

Harris rejects religious exemptions for abortion

By David Zimmermann  | National Review Vice President Kamala Harris said Tuesday night she would reject religious exemptions for abortion as president, effectively forcing health-care providers to perform the medical procedure in violation of their moral conscience. The Democratic presidential nominee has been adamant about passing a bill that would codify Roe v. Wade into law, despite the Supreme Court overturning that decision in 2022. In an interview with NBC News anchor Hallie Jackson, Harris indicated she would refuse to compromise with Republican lawmakers on the abortion legislation. “I don’t think we should be making concessions when we’re talking about a fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own body,” Harris said when asked if sh...

Democrats fear race may be slipping away from Harris

By Amie Parnes  | The Hill There is growing fear in Democratic circles that the presidential race could be slipping further away from Vice President Harris. To be sure, Democrats still think Harris can defeat former President Trump. The margins are so close in the seven battleground states likely to decide the contest, a shift toward either candidate or a mistake in the polling could be decisive.  At the same time, Democrats are privately expressing worry that battleground polling appears to be moving in Trump’s direction over the last two weeks.
