Heidi Ganahl Rallies Conservatives at Northeastern Colorado Women’s Event

By Drake Hunter | RMV NE CO Newsroom, Rocky Mountain Voice The Greeley Republican Women (GRW) hosted a packed event at Ben’s Brick Oven Pizza in Hudson, Weld County, where former 2022 candidate for Colorado governor and Rocky Mountain Voice founder Heidi Ganahl delivered the keynote address. Stacey Casteel of GRW led the gathering and drew notable attendees, including Weld County Commissioner Perry Buck and State Senator Scott Bright. The venue itself, owned by Ben Skoglund and family, was highlighted by Ganahl as an example of businesses willing to stand firm in their values despite cultural and political pressures. Ganahl opened with humor, but quickly pivoted to the challenges facing Colorado. “Colorado’s kind of a mess right now,” she said, stressing that Weld County remain...

When watchdogs reached out, only two clerks answered: Colorado’s election crisis exposed

By Bill Lehman, Heidi Ganahl | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Colorado’s election system is facing a crisis of confidence, with voters increasingly skeptical due to incidents like Arapahoe County’s mishandled 2020 Cast Vote Record and the Secretary of State’s office leaking 600 BIOS passwords during the 2024 election. Leaking 600 BIOS passwords is the civic version of leaving the house key under the doormat and then posting a photo of the doormat. These failures, alongside persistent reports of irregularities, undermine the narrative that Colorado's elections are the “gold standard.”  Public trust continues to erode as evidence of vulnerabilities mounts, yet one county’s efforts illustrate how clerks can make important improvements—though systemic issues demand far broader...

Now or Never: Colorado businesses punished for renting to conservatives

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice I was recently invited to speak at an event organized by a small grassroots Republican group in Jefferson County. The event, called Now or Never, brought together four speakers to talk about school safety, election integrity, and Colorado’s political future. Details are available at hdr.nucleuspages.com/events/now-or-never. The group rented space at a local brewery on a slow Tuesday night. They lined up a food truck and a musician. We are intentionally not naming the brewery. But once word spread that conservatives would be gathering, the brewery became the target of an online mob. A Reddit post titled “[Local Brewery] hosting a MAGA party” blew up with comments calling for boycotts: “Never going there again.”“Hit them with one...

Roblox isn’t a game when safety is on the line

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice This week, two very different voices sounded the same alarm about Roblox. YouTuber Schlep says the platform banned him after he worked with law enforcement to help catch child predators. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is suing Roblox, calling it a “clear and present danger” to kids. Both are pointing to the same problem: a platform packed with children and not enough safeguards to protect them. Schlep claims his tips led to multiple arrests. Instead of a thank you, he says the company sent him a legal notice and locked him out. In a social media post, he calls himself “a survivor on a mission” and says the ban was “retaliation for exposing predators.” The screenshots he shared show Roblox accusing him of breaking the rules...

What schools won’t say: The furry behavior Colorado families keep reporting

By Shaina Cole | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice Rumors about students dressing as animals and disrupting classrooms have circulated throughout Colorado for years, sparking political fights, school board blowback and media denials. Some say the “furries in schools” narrative is a hoax pushed by conservative figures. But school records, parent testimony and disciplinary documents tell a more complicated story. First signs: When parents spoke up and were ignored The saga gained momentum in 2022 when more than two dozen parents in Jefferson County bombarded school officials with concerns. Darlene Edwards, a mother whose 14-year-old autistic son attended a local middle school, told CBS Colorado her son returned home upset, describing classmates in animal costumes scratching,...

Trailblazers among us: Meet the RMV award winners changing Colorado from the ground up

By Jen Schumann | Rocky Mountain Voice At the Mountain Majesty Gala last month, the room was on its feet. Eric Trump had just wrapped his keynote, a message aimed straight at the grassroots: Colorado is yearning to be red. But the loud applause that night wasn’t reserved only for the headliner.  It also came when everyday Coloradans—organizers, volunteers and first-time leaders—were called up for something new: the first Trailblazer Awards.  It was for the people doing the work when no one’s watching. It was a moment to take in, struck not just by who received the awards—but why. These weren’t political celebrities. They were parents, satirists, engineers and organizers.  Most had never sought attention. But they’d earned it. Here are the stories of Trailblaze...

Ganahl: Big wins, bigger fights—Colorado conservatives are gaining ground

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice Grassroots momentum is building—but the Left isn’t backing down We’ve been in the trenches for a long time here in Colorado. For years, it’s felt like one loss after another—on parental rights, on fiscal responsibility, on election integrity. But something has shifted. In this week’s episode of Unleashed, I talk about the wins we’re finally starting to see—and why they matter more than ever. 🎙️ Listen here, and watch on YouTube or Rumble. The Tide Is Turning Across the state, local conservatives are stepping up and taking ground: We’re electing bold, principled leaders to county parties. Grassroots voices are winning school board and city council seats. Citizen journalists are breaking stories the mainstream med...

Ganahl: What’s inside the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’—and why it’s a game-changer for families and freedom

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice They’re calling it the “Big Beautiful Bill”—and whether you love it or hate it, it’s the boldest shakeup to our tax and spending system since Trump’s 2017 tax cuts. Officially titled the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, this legislation does a lot: extends the Trump tax cuts, rewrites how safety net programs work, beefs up border and defense spending, and trims down the green energy handouts. There’s plenty to cheer—and plenty to argue over. Here’s a quick tour of what’s in the final version. Tax cuts for working families and seniors The Big Beautiful Bill locks in the 2017 marginal rate cuts and doubles the standard deduction, giving most families broad-based relief. The Child Tax Credit also gets a temporary ...

Ganahl: Trump’s new MABA commission puts conservation back in the hands of the people

By Heidi Ganahl | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice While most folks were watching fireworks, President Trump was signing something far more lasting—an Executive Order that could reshape how we care for the land we love. It’s the kind of bold step we need to bring common sense back to how we manage the wild, wide-open spaces that make this country worth fighting for. The creation of the Make America Beautiful Again (MABA) Commission is about more than pretty trails and national parks. It’s about restoring common sense and local control in how we care for the land we love. As a board member of the American Conservation Coalition (ACC), I’ve long pushed for this kind of approach—where conservation doesn’t mean locking up our lands, but opening them to responsible use, careful steward...

“Colorado is yearning to be red”: Eric Trump fires up sold-out RMV Gala

By Jen Schumann | Rocky Mountain Voice Eric Trump had no intention of returning to politics. After years on the front lines of the MAGA movement, he told his father he was done. Ten years of lawsuits, media smears and raising a young family had him ready to step back. Then Heidi Ganahl called. “I told my father… I’m retiring from politics,” Trump said. “And then I got a call from Heidi. Damn it. Alright, fine. I’m back in.” More than 400 conservatives packed the sold-out June 21 event in Golden—including 150 VIPs—united by a common belief that Colorado’s still worth fighting for. The movement begins: Pizza Ranch and a tabletop speech Trump opened with a story about 2016 that drew laughs. The MAGA movement didn’t begin with consultants or ad buys. It started in places lik...
