DEA arrests another alleged Tren de Aragua member in Denver

By Luige Del Puerto | The Denver Gazette Anti-narcotics agents have arrested a man suspected of being a member of the Venezuelan gang operating in metro Denver. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration provided few details of the arrest.  In a post on X on Wednesday, the agency said the arrest was made overnight.   The agency posted a video of the arrest, which showed a man in handcuffs being led into a law enforcement vehicle. DEA arrests suspects in early morning drug raid in Colorado; weapons and ammunition seized

By Jennifer McRae | CBS Colorado Drug Enforcement Administration agents along with Denver police officers, arrested several suspects in an early morning drug raid Wednesday. DEA said they were investigating a drug trafficking operation in Lochbuie.  "There is a renewed sense of purpose in our mission which is removing violent criminals who are trafficking dangerous drugs like fentanyl into our communities," said Assistant Special Agent in Charge, DEA Rocky Mountain Division David Olesky. Coming at the behest of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora is the first military installation in the country utilized for this purpose. Denver mayor says city will work with ICE under certain circumstances

By Vicente Arenas | KDVR-TV Fox 31 News The city of Denver is preparing for what some have said could be mass deportations of undocumented immigrants. Now, federal prosecutors say they will investigate anyone who stands in the way of beefed-up enforcement of immigration laws. On Tuesday, Douglas County commissioners unanimously approved a resolution embracing Trump’s “use of federal immigration and customs enforcement for the safe and lawful deportation of immigrants illegally in the United States,” the resolution states. “Open and insecure border policies and local sanctuary declarations and laws have resulted in a mass illegal migration into the United States," the resolution states, arguing "sanctuary" status has cost Colorado government entities over $350 million. Colorado to expand health care to illegals, leading to $17 million expense overage

By Brandon Richard | Denver7 News A Colorado program launching on Jan. 1 will provide health care coverage to thousands of undocumented immigrants who currently lack it. The program, known as Cover All Coloradans, will expand Medicaid coverage to low-income pregnant women and children regardless of their immigration status. It was created through the passage of House Bill 22-1289 in 2022. “I think what we know is everybody deserves access to health care,” said Adam Fox with Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, which helped push for the passage of the law. By Shaun Boyd | CBS Colorado Less than two months after President-elect Donald Trump announced "Operation Aurora" -- a.k.a. operation mass deportation -- Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman says he shouldn't expect much help in Colorado. "At this point, there's really nothing we can do -- there's nothing to prepare for -- because we really have no authority," Coffman said. It's against state law for local law enforcement in Colorado to cooperate with federal immigration agents.
