Lauren Boebert is on track to return to Congress from her newly adopted district Tuesday night by winning the crowded GOP primary in Colorado's 4th Congressional District. At the same time, Republican Greg Lopez won election to serve out the remainder of former five-term U.S. Rep. Ken Buck's term, following Buck's resignation from the U.S. House earlier this year. Lopez, a former Parker mayor and two-time gubernatorial candidate, led Democratic nominee Trisha Calvarese by double digits. Lauren Boebert intends to be the party's 4th District general election nominee. "We have definitely put in the work," she said during a Monday evening call with grassroots supporters. "I'm ready for a victory." While she brought the panache to the call, her campaign manager, Drew Sexton, noted his desire to tamper expectations until after election returns. "We're hopeful to bring it home tomorrow," he said. Lauren Boebert vastly outraised her five Republican opponents in the 4th Congressional District in the two months leading up to the June 25 primary while spending heavily on TV and mailers to reach voters, campaign finance reports filed Thursday reveal. The $334,000 Boebert raised from April 1 to June 5 lagged the $624,000 she raised during the lead up to the primary in 2022. But the money was still enough to eclipse the $178,000 brought in by her five GOP competitors combined this year, according to Federal Election Commission reports. The artist was visiting lawmakers to advocate for Black entrepreneurs to lawmakers, The Hill reports. In various debates in the 4th District, Boebert has noted the depredation by the gray wolf in Colorado, and had pledged to pursue a bill in Congress which would remove the gray wolf from the endangered species list. There are an estimated 13,000 gray wolves in the United States and another 30,000 in Canada. She authored House Resolution 764, titled the "Trust the Science Act", to remove protections the gray wolf enjoys while depredating livestock and other animals in Colorado.
