Trump Administration Moves To Break Up Boulder Based NCAR In Climate Research Shakeup

By Joey Garrison | USA TODAY WASHINGTON ‒ The Trump administration is moving to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, according to a senior White House official, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs. Trump officials have circled the federally funded research institution, based in Boulder, Colorado, as a hub for "federal climate alarmism" after it was established decades earlier in 1960 for research in atmospheric chemistry and physical meteorology. The administration plans to identify and eliminate what it calls "green new scam research activities" during an upcoming review of the center, according to the White House, while "vital functions" such as weather modeling and supercomputing will be moved to an...

Trump Escalates War On Cartels With Fentanyl WMD Designation

By Jennie Taer | Daily Wire President Donald Trump on Monday announced the classification of illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction, opening the door for the federal government to go even harder against the drug cartels. Trump signed the executive order, enhancing penalties for fentanyl traffickers and tasking the Department of War with countering the cartels producing the lethal narcotic. “No bomb does what this is doing. 200,000 to 300,000 people die every year that we know of, so we’re formally classifying fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction,” Trump said while awarding troops with medals for securing the southern border on Monday. https://twitter.com/TrumpWarRoom/status/2000666914654163022?s=20 READ THE FULL ARTICLE AT THE DAILY W...

Hacked Denver Signs Flash Anti-Car Messages as Transportation Debate Heats Up

By Daniel Boniface | The Denver Gazette Denver transportation officials said an anti-car message that was displayed on traffic signs in Denver on Friday was the result of a hack. One sign, photographed by The Denver Gazette on Friday evening at E. Colfax Avenue and Lincoln Street near the Colorado Capitol, shared the message “Cars ruin cities.” “Yes, the sign was hacked,” Nancy Kuhn, a spokeswoman for the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, told The Denver Gazette in an email Sunday. “We heard about it last night and sent someone out to address it.” A second sign was apparently hacked on 14th Street in Denver, displaying the same message, and a photo of it was posted on various social media accounts, including The Denver Urbanist an...

Women Sue Hinge Dating App After Colorado Cardiologist Convicted In Drugging Rape Case

By Brian Maass | CBS Colorado Six women who say they were drugged and raped by former Denver cardiologist Stephen Matthews plan to file a civil lawsuit in Denver Tuesday against Matthews and the Hinge dating app, which they say allowed Matthews to remain on the app for years, even after women had told Hinge that Matthews was a rapist. "I thought it was unbelievably unacceptable, disrespectful and just horrifying," said one of the women who filed the suit, Alexa, 25, who asked that her last name not be used. She was 22 when she met Matthews via the Hinge app in 2023, but after a date that ended with her believing she was drugged and assaulted, she later learned that another woman had reported Matthews to Hinge as a "rapist" in 2020, then again in 2021, but he ...

Aurora Crackdown Pulls 1,200+ Illegal Vehicles Off the Road This Year

By: Alliyah Sims | KDVR FOX31 AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Aurora’s three-strike rule is pulling illegal vehicles off the streets at record levels. From Jan. 1 to Nov. 30, Aurora police say 1,257 vehicles have been impounded under the city’s three-strike rule. Officers say about 80% to 85% of those cars are returned to the owner after they provide proof of a valid license, registration and insurance. A Town on Edge: Inside the Erie Mail Threats That Resulted in No Charges

By Shaina Cole | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice In early October, residents across Erie and in Virginia, began opening their mailboxes to find sympathy cards inside plain envelopes. The message referenced the assassination of Charlie Kirk, accompanied by an empty packet of Gushers candy taped to the card, glitter and a loose powdery substance that spilled when handled. Twenty residents in total received the cards. Many were former candidates, business owners, volunteers, and known conservatives within the community. One envelope opened in Virginia triggered a full hazmat activation. Loudoun County Fire & Rescue’s official report shows responders in Tychem suits isolating the scene, testing the substance, and alerting federal authorities. Their lab equip...
