The congresswoman, among House Democrats’ most progressive members, signed up for an annual membership in 2018, then let her membership lapse for seven years, the news outlet NOTUS reported Thursday
She is the most prominent politician affiliated with the organization, which had considerable success in this primary season in knocking off some long-standing Democratic incumbents.
Recent polling shows Ocasio-Cortez a favorite among potential Democratic presidential candidates, and her decision to rejoin the DSA could score points among Democratic voters who appear to be moving further to the left in the midterm cycle.
