How Pete Hegseth turned his Secretary of Defense confirmation fight around in 7 days

By Kristina Wong | Breitbart Just one week ago, Trump Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth’s confirmation appeared doomed after a barrage of hit pieces. However, after launching an intense campaign to defend himself, he now appears to be on a path towards confirmation. By last Monday, things did not look so good. No fewer than four hit pieces had dropped, one after another, just as Hegseth began to meet with senators responsible for confirming him. They were all based on anonymous allegations, some ten years old, but the pile-up became too much to ignore. Republican senators began expressing doubts. On Tuesday, December 3, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) called the allegations “very disturbing.” READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

DHS Chief Alejandro Mayorkas Announces Jobs Giveaway — for Migrants

By John Binder | Breitbart In the final weeks of President Joe Biden’s administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is announcing a jobs giveaway for newly arrived migrants with work permits. On Tuesday, Mayorkas announced a final rule from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that will allow millions of migrants, many of whom have been released into the U.S. interior by the Biden administration, to keep their work permits for up to 540 days when they seek a renewal. Migrants previously could renew their work permits for 180 days. For years, Democratic mayors had lobbied DHS to extend such automatic employment authorization for migrants. The rule will go into effect on Jan. 13, 2025. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBAR...

FBI director Wray prepares to resign, does not want to be fired

By Wendell Husebo | Breitbart FBI Director Christopher Wray does not want to be fired and will resign before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office, sources inside the bureau who are familiar with the director’s thinking told the Washington Times. Trump, who originally hired Wray but grew dissatisfied with him after years of weaponizing the bureau, such as raiding Mar-a-Lago, recently nominated Kash Patel as a replacement. Wray is among President Joe Biden’s allies that Democrat and media supporters believe should receive a preemptive pardon. White House lawyers are studying pardons, reports indicate, which would appear to project an admission of guilt. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Lara Trump stepping down as RNC Co-chair amid U.S. Senate bid speculation

By Simon Kent | Breitbart Republican National Committee (RNC) co-chair Lara Trump is stepping down from her party role as she considers replacing Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R), whom her father-in-law, President-elect Trump, picked for secretary of state. “It is something I would seriously consider,” she told the Associated Press in an interview, referring to serving in the Senate.  “If I’m being completely transparent, I don’t know exactly what that would look like. And I certainly want to get all of the information possible if that is something that is real for me,” Trump added. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

U.S. Economy Adds 227,000 Jobs In November

By John Carney | Breitbart Employers in the United States added 227,000 workers to their payrolls in November, the Department of Labor said Friday, and the unemployment rate edged up to 4.2 percent. Economists had been expecting 215,000 after storms and strikes saw the Labor Department report a much-worse-than-expected growth of just 12,000 in October. They had also forecast that the unemployment rate would rise one-tenth of a point from 4.1 percent. The October report was revised up by 24,000, bringing the estimate up to 36,000. The September jobs number was revised up by 32,000, from a gain of 223,000 to 255,000. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Pete Hegseth shoring up support from key Republican senators as smear campaign falters

By Kristina Wong | Breitbart Trump Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth is shoring up support from key Republican senators as a concerted smear campaign against him based on years-old allegations from anonymous sources has been disputed by many on-the-record. On Wednesday, Sen. John Thune (R-SD), the incoming Senate Majority Leader, voiced support for Hegseth, according to a Washington Examiner journalist. “I think he articulates a good vision, a strong vision for the Department of Defense, which I think is in need of some modernization and reform,” he said. “He’s obviously an experienced veteran, combat veteran, so he brings a lot of experience about what the warfighters’ needs are and how to keep America ready for the potential battles of the future.” READ THE FULL STORY AT...

Breitbart News first obtained the montage featuring key members of Trump’s Cabinet pursuing the MAHA agenda. It begins with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) describing President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees as individuals who will “shake up the status quo.” Those MAHA selections include Dr. Janette Nesheiwat as Surgeon General, Dr. Marty Makary as FDA director, former congressman and Dr. Dave Weldon as CDC director, Dr. Mehmet Oz to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead Health and Human ...

American hostage Omer Neutra confirmed dead; murdered October 7, body in Gaza

By Joel B. Pollak | Breitbart The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) declared Monday that American-Israeli hostage Omer Neutra, who was thought to have been taken alive to Gaza, was in fact killed during the October 7 terror attack and his body abducted by Hamas. Omer, who was 21 years old when he was killed, immigrated to Israel and joined the IDF as a “lone solder,” a term referring to those who join the military without any immediate family in Israel. He rose to the rank of Captain in a tank platoon in the 77th Battalion, 7th Brigade. His tank was hit by rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and other explosives in the assault, and though he and the other soldiers fought the terrorists outside the tank, they were killed. Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a statement: READ THE FULL S...

Egg Shortage and Price Increase Hit U.S. amid Holiday Season

By Amy Furr | Breitbart Americans may find it hard to get eggs this holiday season because of bird flu outbreaks and the economy. There has been a shortage of eggs in some stores across the nation, CBS News reported on Friday, noting the businesses in states that require eggs from cage-free hens have been affected by Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). “More than 40% of the nation’s roughly 300 million egg-laying hens are raised in cage-free facilities, but roughly 60% of ‘bird flu’ cases recently detected involved cage-free farms,” the report continued. There have been outbreaks recently in Utah, Oregon, California, and Washington, per Emily Metz, who is the chief executive and president of the American Egg Board. READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART
