Molson Coors scraps ‘woke’ DEI policies in growing trend among U.S. companies

By Breck Dumas | Fox Business Molson Coors is rolling back its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, becoming the latest in a string of iconic American companies to step away from so-called "woke" policies in recent months. Conservative activist and filmmaker Robby Starbuck, who has been leading a campaign exposing major corporations' woke policies, said Tuesday on X that Coors sent him a letter its leadership team had circulated to employees that day to explain the changes after he threatened company executives last week. In the letter, provided to FOX Business from Coors, the company's executives said its human resources team began making plans in March to broaden the view of its DEI polices to ensure all "employees know they are welcome." The company did not commen...

Social Security payments will be affected soon by a cost of living change

By Caitlin Cahalan | The Street Sixty-eight million Americans receive Social Security Insurance (SSI) payments each month, and most retirees (58%) note that Social Security is a significant source of income in retirement. Therefore, it is crucial that these payments cover basic expenses, especially during times of stubborn inflation. The federal government provides a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) to ensure that the purchasing power of Social Security payments isn’t diminished by inflation and the rising cost of living. The past few years of consistent inflation have prompted the Social Security Administration to seriously reevaluate the current COLA. While the COLA is adjusted annually, years of sustained inflation typically prompt higher adjustments. READ THE FULL STORY AT...

‘You got our kids murdered’: Gold Star families lambast Harris for politicizing Trump’s appearance at Arlington Ceremony

By Jordan Boyd | The Federalist Vice President Kamala Harris tried to use the plight of the 13 Gold Star families who lost their loved ones during the Biden administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal to score political points in her 2024 campaign against former President Donald Trump. Her plot backfired tremendously, however, when several of the family members mourning those murdered during the terrorist attack at Abbey Gate issued statements condemning Harris for politicizing the remnants of a disaster she created. Trump, at the request of the Gold Star families, attended a service at Arlington National Cemetery last week honoring the fallen on the third anniversary of their deaths. According to the families who organized the event, Trump and his team were “respectful” and “lis...

Pelosi wants ‘American dream’ for illegal immigrants: ‘Move them to documented’ with funding for homes

By Heather Hunter | Washington Examiner Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she would like to take her state’s bill that would provide taxpayer-funded home loans to illegal immigrants to the next level and make them “documented.” In an interview with HBO’s Bill Maher Friday night, the former speaker was asked about her thoughts on California lawmakers passing Assembley Bill 1840, which would give illegal immigrants money to buy homes under the state’s Housing Finance Agency’s home purchase assistance program, California Dream for All. “California lawmakers just passed a law — it hasn‘t been signed by Gov. Newsom — but giving government assistance to undocumented immigrants to buy houses,” Maher said to Pelosi. “That‘s kind of a dif...

Congress faces urgent deadline to prevent government shutdown, stopgap needed to keep operations running

By Brie Stimson  | The Hill Congress is staring down a deadline this month to prevent a government shutdown, as members on both sides of the aisle have made clear a stopgap of some kind will be needed to keep the lights on. Lawmakers have until Sept. 30 to pass legislation to prevent a funding lapse. And while November’s elections could make the chances of a shutdown less likely, leaders have their work cut out for them amid deep divides on spending.  READ THE FULL STORY AT THE HILL

Elon Musk says Brazilian judge should go to prison in latest attack after X ban upheld in country

By Brie Stimson  | Fox Business Elon Musk didn’t mince words on Monday, writing on his X platform that Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes should be arrested.  "De Moraes deserves prison for his crimes," the tech billionaire wrote on X on Sept. 2 after the country’s high court upheld a ban on the social media platform.  The temporary ban was imposed over the weekend after Musk didn’t name a legal representative before a deadline in a case going back months in which the country demanded some accounts be suspended that had been implicated in probes of so-called digital militias accused of spreading misinformation and hate. Obama-left and far-left fight to control Harris

By Washington Examiner Because Democrats closed ranks around Kamala Harris and now project an image of a party united by joy, it’s easily forgotten that their new nominee was not the first choice of those who played key roles in ousting President Joe Biden, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and most especially former President Barack Obama. Their preferred solution after Biden’s incapacity became undeniable was that Harris should be one among several candidates, and probably not the one who emerged victorious. It’s important to remember that until the day Biden actually surrendered, Harris was joked about as his insurance policy against regicide. But Biden overturned the apple cart by endorsing Harris as his successor within minutes of anno...

What’s on the ballot? In 41 states voters will be asked to decide issues of significance

By DAVID A. LIEB | The Associated Press, via Colorado Politics Life, death, crime and taxes will be on ballots for voters to decide this fall. More than 140 measures are going before voters in 41 states during the general election alongside choices for president and other top offices. The ballot questions will give voters a chance to directly decide some consequential issues, instead of deferring to their elected representatives. Some ballot measures also could draw more people to the polls, potentially impacting results for the presidency in swing states, control of Congress and the outcomes for closely contested state offices. Ex-Hochul and Cuomo aide and husband worked as foreign agents for China

By Vaughn Golden, Ben Kochman and Matt Troutman | New York Post The former high-ranking aide for Gov. Kathy Hochul who was arrested along with her husband Tuesday acted as a foreign agent for China in exchange for millions of dollars in kickbacks and fancy perks such as salted duck, according to a bombshell indictment. The damning 64-page indictment accuses Linda Sun, 41, and her husband, Christopher Hu, 40, of spending their shady gains on a gaudy new $4 million house in Manhasset, a $2 million second home in a Honolulu high-rise and luxury cars such as a 2024 Ferrari. Sun shadily used her position under Hochul and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo — who are unnamed but clearly referenced in the court documents — to turn the governor’s office into a virtual mouthpiece for t...

Ben Shapiro, leading conservative podcaster, takes on new role as Republican fundraiser

By Alex Isenstadt | Politico Ben Shapiro, one of the most listened-to and controversial podcasters in America, is trying a new role: Republican fundraiser. During the final months of the election cycle, Shapiro plans to hold fundraisers for Republican Senate candidates in a handful of races that could determine which party controls the chamber. That’s after Shapiro, once a sharp critic of Donald Trump, co-hosted an event for the former president in late March. Those close to Shapiro say it’s possible he’ll hold another fundraiser for the ex-president ahead of the election. READ THE FULL STORY AT POLITICO
