Wilcox: You now need an ID to fly but not to vote

By Melanie Wilcox | Daily Caller, Commentary The REAL ID Act will be enforced nationwide in all 50 states beginning Wednesday, May 7. Starting that day, every adult boarding a commercial domestic flight or entering certain secure federal facilities will need to present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another form of accepted identification such as a U.S. passport. Passed in 2005 in response to the 9/11 attacks, the REAL ID Act aimed to tighten federal identification standards. But the rollout has been marked by state resistance, logistical challenges and privacy concerns. Some states — over a dozen at one point — flat-out refused to comply early on, citing high costs and civil liberties concerns. Federal prosecutors charge two Ukrainian nationals with illegally voting in US Presidential Election

By Jason Hopkins | Daily Caller Federal prosecutors have charged two Ukrainian nationals with unlawfully voting in an American presidential election, the latest case of non-citizens allegedly participating in federal elections. The Ukrainian women — 53-year-old Svitlana Demydenko and her 22-year-old daughter, Yelyzaveta Demydenko — are accused of voting in the 2024 presidential election in Palm Beach, Florida, on Oct. 31, according to the Justice Department. The pair made their initial appearance in West Palm Beach federal court Tuesday. In a public statement celebrating the charges, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the Department of Government Efficiency, a cost-cutting initiative within the Trump administration better known as DOGE, assisted with the investigation. ...

Donald Trump, Scott Bessent reveal which country could be close to making trade deal

By Harold Hutchison | Daily Caller President Donald Trump and Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said on Thursday that negotiations over a potential trade agreement with South Korea are making progress. Trump announced a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs via an April 9 post on Truth Social that also announced substantial increases on tariffs on Chinese exports to the United States, a week after he initially unveiled the duties on imports. Bessent said that the talks with South Korea had gone “faster” than he expected.  “Yes, I will,” Trump said when asked if he would be meeting world leaders while in Italy to attend the funeral of Pope Francis. “I would like to meet them all. That would be nice. I would like to take care of all of them. Many of them there. They all want to m...

Trump Admin asks Supreme Court to let it enforce transgender military ban

By Katelynn Richardson | Daily Caller The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Thursday to let it enforce a ban on transgender individuals in the military. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals declined to pause a lower court ruling on Friday that blocked the ban from taking effect. “In this case, the district court issued a universal injunction usurping the Executive Branch’s authority to determine who may serve in the Nation’s armed forces—despite this Court previously staying injunctions against a materially indistinguishable policy,” the administration’s application states. ‘War on coal is finally over’: Energy experts say Trump admin’s deregulation agenda could fuel coal’s revival

By Audrey Streb | Daily Caller Within the first months of his second administration, President Donald Trump has prioritized “unleashing” American energy and has already axed several of what he considers to be burdensome regulations on the coal industry, promising it’s “reinvigoration.” Trump signed an executive order on April 8 to revive the coal industry, and shortly after moved to exempt several coal plants from Biden-era regulations. Though it has become a primary target of many climate activists, coal has been historically regarded as readily available and affordable, and several energy policy experts who spoke with Daily Caller News Foundation believe Trump has the cards necessary to strengthen the industry. “When utility bills are skyrocketing or blackouts are happening in w...

Trump admin releases RFK assassination files

By Eireann Van Natta | Daily Caller Over 10,000 pages of previously classified documents were uploaded to the National Archives on Friday morning. “In the course of searching FBI and CIA warehouses for records not previously turned over to The National Archives, an additional 50,000 pages of RFK assassination files were discovered,” the press released added. RFK was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian refugee, Reuters reported. The former senator was shot soon after he won the 1968 California Democratic presidential primary, and he died the following day, the outlet said. “Lifting the veil on the RFK papers is a necessary step toward restoring trust in American government,” Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary and RFK’s son, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., stated ...

Another chips giant commits to manufacturing in US

By Thomas English | Daily Caller Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) will begin chip production at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) facility in Arizona, marking the first time the company’s processors will be made on U.S. soil. The announcement, delivered Tuesday by CEO Lisa Su in Taipei, signals a sharp pivot in AMD’s manufacturing strategy as the Trump administration ramps up scrutiny of foreign-made semiconductors. With Washington eying tariffs on chip imports over national security concerns, AMD joins a growing list of tech giants racing to localize operations amid mounting trade risks. “TSMC has been a key partner for many years and our deep collaboration with their R&D and manufacturing teams has enabled AMD to consistently deliver leadership products that pu...

Justice: Colorado’s HB1312 is sacrificing families to the trans lobby

By Tiffany Justice | The Daily Caller No parent should ever be forced to enable harm to their child. It’s a primal instinct—to shield, to nurture, to guide our kids through life’s storms. Yet, Colorado is charging toward a law that turns this instinct upside down, branding it abusive for parents to question their child’s desire to “change their gender.” This isn’t a minor policy tweak; it’s a full-frontal assault on parental rights, propped up by the flimsy facade of “gender-affirming care”—a practice I see as abuse cloaked in compassion. The legislation at the heart of this, HB25-1312, cleared the Colorado House in early 2025 and is winding through the Senate as of April. Its supporters pitch it as a shield for transgender individuals, but peel back the rhetoric, and the real ta...

DOJ and ATF repeal Biden’s ‘zero tolerance policy,’ delivering win for gun owners

By Eireann Van Natta | Daily Caller The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) repealed former President Biden’s “Zero Tolerance Policy” and announced a review of two other rules Monday. Biden’s “Enhanced Regulatory Enforcement Policy,” or the “Zero Tolerance Policy,” implemented strict regulations for federal firearms dealers. Second Amendment activists argued it allowed the government to target dealers over paperwork errors. READ THE FULL STORY AT THE DAILY CALLER

Top aide finally admits Biden was rapidly declining, falling asleep by the pool

By Reagan Reese | Daily Caller One of former President Joe Biden’s senior aides admitted in a new book that the 82-year-old couldn’t grasp the back and forth of debate and would fall asleep by the pool while they prepped for his showdown with Trump, according to a book excerpt. Top Biden aide Ron Klain, who helped the former president with debate prep, was “half-seriously” wondering if  Biden believed he was the president of NATO rather than the president of the United States, according to the excerpt of Chris Whipple’s new book published by The Guardian. While they prepped, Klain reportedly told Whipple that the then 81-year-old president “didn’t know what Trump had been saying and couldn’t grasp what the back and forth was” and would have to cut training sessions short because he w...
