By Jared Mitovich | Politico Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance agreed to debate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Oct. 1 on CBS, locking in a match-up between the Republican and Democratic nominees for vice president. On Wednesday, Walz had publicly agreed to the October debate in CBS’s New York City studios. “CBS Evening News” anchor Norah O’Donnell and “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan will moderate the forum. Colorado Springs City Council sends sales ban of recreational marijuana to voters

By Mary Shinn | Colorado Politics, via Colorado Springs Gazette Colorado Springs residents could see competing recreational marijuana ballot questions in November.  The Colorado Springs City Council voted 8 to 1 to send a question to the ballot that would ban recreational marijuana stores in the city's charter. Peters was convicted of three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, one count of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty and failing to comply with the secretary of state. Central to the case, Peters faced accusations she had used another person's security badge and her position to provide access to an expert related to MyPillow's Mike Lindell to the election system. By Pamela Poll | Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice As a Colorado citizen who has read the summaries of the Mesa County Reports and naturally takes great interest in the question of the security of Colorado’s election process, I would like to share what I’ve discovered.  What Clerk Peters did to preserve the Mesa County election data from the 2020 and 2021 elections was her duty to Colorado citizens and to the law. Clerk Peters had been told that the new software installation in 2021 known as the “Trusted Build”, ordered by Secretary of State Jena Griswold, would erase the 2020 and 2021 election data. Fact check: Incarcerated felons can’t vote, but upon release they can

By Justin George | The Colorado Sun People convicted of felonies who have served their entire sentences can vote in Colorado. So can people on probation and parole. Those convicted of felonies who are imprisoned or confined to detention as part of their sentence cannot vote. They regain their voting eligibility after they have completed their “full term of imprisonment,” according to the Colorado Secretary of State. “The day you are released from detention or incarceration is the day your eligibility to register to vote is restored,” the office stated on its website.
