Colorado Communities Kept in the Dark About New ICE Detention Plans

By Taylor Dolven | The Colorado Sun All Walsenburg Interim City Administrator John Galusha knows about the plans for the long-closed private prison in the city he oversees is what he’s read in the news: Immigration and Customs Enforcement is considering reopening it to detain immigrants. And he’s not alone. Huerfano County Administrator Carl Young doesn’t know if the prison will reopen. And Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade and Hudson Town Manager Bryce Lange are similarly in the dark about proposed plans to reopen detention facilities in their communities. Most local government leaders reached for this story said the private prison companies that own the facilities wouldn’t need local government approval to reopen them as-is. But they would need local resources, like water ...

Democrat-Led States Reverse Course on Health Coverage for Illegals

By Cooper Williamson | Blaze Media States will be ending their programs for illegal immigrants, saving millions. Since around 2020, Washington, D.C., and seven states have opened their health care programs to illegal aliens. However, since President Trump's administration began, some states have abruptly changed their policy positions. According to the Associated Press, California, Illinois, and Minnesota, all heavily Democrat-run states, have announced that they will be scaling back or ending their Medicaid programs for illegal aliens. Illinois will begin slashing its Medicaid availability immediately for illegal immigrants ages 42-64 for an estimated $404 million in savings. Minnesota likewise will be ending the program for adult illegal immigrants immediately. It is e...

ICE arrests illegal alien with 21 convictions for crimes in Boulder

By John Binder | Breitbart The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have arrested an illegal alien with a lengthy rap sheet, totaling 21 prior criminal convictions. On Tuesday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials announced the arrest of several illegal aliens, including 52-year-old Federico Fong-Nunez of Mexico. Fong-Nunez has been convicted of 21 different crimes in Boulder, Colorado, including burglary, aggravated assault, and felony menacing. “President Trump and Secretary Noem have unleashed ICE to target the worst of the worst. Our brave law enforcement is facing an 830% increase in assaults against them and yet they continue to arrest violent criminals and drug traffickers every single day,” the Department of Homeland Security’s Tricia McLaugh...

Bedford: The conservative revolution has finally arrived—and we’re not tired of winning

By Christopher Bedford | Commentary, The Blaze The fire rises If you spend an inordinate amount of time online — doomscrolling, podcast-hopping, and trading theories with your pals on Signal — you might be fixated on every twist in the Jeffrey Epstein saga. Or maybe you’ve convinced yourself that the transgender sports fight doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of American politics. That would be a serious mistake. Conservatives are finally acting like revolutionaries, while prominent Democrat mayors are screeching and sobbing in the streets. You’d be missing the most significant conservative revolution Washington has seen in decades — maybe ever. Start with sports. The right’s victory in pushing back transgender ideology on this front marks a turning point. Not just...

ICE expansion in Colorado draws fire as private prison firms compete for contracts

By Anna Alejo | CBS Colorado Just days after the passage of President Trump's budget bill allocating $45 billion to Immigration and Customs Enforcement to expand detention facilities, the American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado made public documents submitted by private prison operators seeking to sign contracts with the federal government. The ACLU says the government provided the documents in response to its lawsuit filed in April. The Trump administration says it plans to build capacity for 100,000 ICE detention beds nationwide. Locations offered for new ICE detention centers in Colorado include Walsenberg, Colorado Springs, Hudson, and La Junta. "We sued the federal government because they were hiding these documents about their intent to expand ICE detention in Colorado...

El Paso County sheriff transfers 19 illegal immigrant offenders to ICE

By Aidan Hulting | Denver Gazette Nineteen people who the El Paso County Sheriff's Office says were in the country illegally, and have allegedly committed crimes in El Paso County, are now in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. This marks the second list the El Paso County Sheriff's Office has released this summer detailing its ongoing cooperation with ICE. “As part of our continued commitment to transparency, I am once again releasing a list of individuals and their associated criminal charges related to the safe and secure transfer of custody to our federal partners at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “We will continue to provide this information in a timely manner to demonstrate compliance with Colorad...

Judge Clears Way to Deport Terror Suspect’s Family After Boulder Bombing

By Shane Galvin | New York Post The family of the Colorado terror suspect who injured 8 Israeli hostage supporters with homemade firebombs last month can be deported, a federal judge ruled on Wednesday. US District Court Judge Orlando Garcia dismissed Mohamed Sabry Soliman family’s legal challenge to their deportation — stating that the Trump administration has conducted normal and legal removal proceedings. Soliman’s wife and five children had sued to prevent expedited removal proceedings, but the judge ruled he “lacks jurisdiction to grant Petitioners the relief they seek.” Garcia’s decision superseded another court’s ruling last month, when Biden-appointed US District Court Judge Gordon Gallagher slammed the brakes on the Trump administration’s attempt to deport Soliman’s fa...

Givas: CNN Puts ICE in the Crosshairs: ‘Sickening and Dangerous’ Says Enforcement Director

By Nick Givas | The Western Journal Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd M. Lyons slammed CNN Monday, accusing the network of putting his officers in danger by publicizing an app that allows users to track their location. “CNN’s promotion of an ‘ICE spotting’ app is reckless and irresponsible,” Lyons said in a statement on ICE’s website. “Advertising an app that basically paints a target on federal law enforcement officers’ backs is sickening. My officers and agents are already facing a 500% increase in assaults, and going on live television to announce an app that lets anyone zero in on their locations is like inviting violence against them with a national megaphone.” He added, “CNN is willfully endangering the lives of officers who put their lives on the l...

Denver judge blocks ICE request over state privacy law, leaves unaccompanied minor safety in limbo

By Marianne Goodland | Denver Gazette A Denver district court judge has issued a preliminary injunction to prevent a division within a state agency from complying with a subpoena issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The injunction is a step that will now lead to a trial on the merits of a lawsuit filed by a state division chief. Notably, the judge's injunction only applies to that state division and the court appears to allow the governor to comply with the ICE subpoena. In his order, Judge A. Bruce Jones said the subpoena would require state employees to violate state laws signed in 2021 and 2025 by disclosing personally identifiable information to federal immigration officials. The ICE subpoena was issued administratively, not by a court or judge, and that w...
