Biden-Harris Administration uses little-known hiring mechanism to staff key DOJ divisions

By Robert Schmad | Daily Caller The Biden-Harris administration has deployed a little-known hiring mechanism to staff key divisions of the Department of Justice (DOJ) ahead of the 2024 election, according to documents provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation by Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT). Hundreds of people, primarily lawyers and judges, have been appointed to the Environmental and Natural Resources (ENRD) and Antitrust and Immigration Review divisions of the DOJ using its “Schedule A” hiring authority since President Joe Biden took office, documents shared with the DCNF by PPT show. Schedule A hiring does not require appointments to be made on the basis of merit and appointments do not expire at the end of the current president’s term, meaning these bureaucrats will stick ...

Meta CEO admits Biden-Harris admin pressured company to censor Americans

By Greg Wehner | Fox Business Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted in a letter on Monday that his company, Facebook, was pressured by the Biden-Harris administration to censor Americans, particularly regarding COVID-19 content. Zuckerberg made the admission in a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, more than a year after providing the committee with thousands of documents as part of its investigation into content moderation on online platforms. Along with documents, the Meta CEO said, the company has provided a dozen employees to be available for transcribed interviews, stressing Meta’s cooperation with the investigation. Three years after withdrawal, Taliban rules Afghanistan

By CASEY HARPER | Center Square This week will mark the three-year anniversary of President Joe Biden’s chaotic and deadly withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. Biden committed on the campaign trail to withdraw U.S. troops, a move supported by his predecessor Donald Trump, but the process left 13 U.S. service members killed and the country within the hands of the Taliban. The Taliban also received billions of dollars in U.S. military equipment because it was left behind. READ MORE AT CENTER SQUARE

Kilpper: From vasectomy vans to hotties for Harris, The DNC was truly a freak show

By Gage Kilpper, Commentary | Daily Caller Throughout the Democratic National Convention, Democrats made a big show out of being “normal,” of standing for “freedom” and traditional, patriotic values. They did their best, but of course it is all a lie; there’s nothing normal about them. Allow me to guide you through the Democrats’ wondrous world of human freaks and oddities. But first, we must get inside! Careful, this is a dangerous path. Stay alert as we wade through the crowds of unwashed protesters — rabid, the lot of them. Feast your eyes on a veritable buffet of causes. Do you want to see the destruction of Israel? Care to donate to Hamas? Perhaps trans rights are more your speed. Or, think bigger: the true idealists here want global intifada or worldwide communist revolut...

Barone: The college graduates’ party’s candidate doesn’t know economic history

By Michael Barone, Commentary | Town Hall Learning isn't necessarily cumulative. Human experience over the centuries provides lessons, some clearer than others. But each generation has to learn lessons anew, and some do not. The lessons about economic growth taught over the long run of history are clear. Growth is not inevitable, and while riches may be accumulated, or appropriated, by the few in high positions, the lives of the very large majority throughout the centuries have been nasty, brutish and short. The exception, the Great Enrichment, began some three centuries ago, around the North Sea, in the Dutch Republic and England, according to economic historian Deirdre McCloskey, in societies when people began respecting and encouraging commerce, rather than resenting and scorni...

US to send $125 million in new military aid to Ukraine, officials say

By Lolita C. Baldor and Matthew Lee | Military.com The Biden administration will send about $125 million in new military aid to Ukraine, U.S. officials said Thursday, even as Washington works to get a better understanding of Kyiv’s incursion into Russia and how it advances the broader battlefield goals more than two years into the war. U.S. officials said the latest package of aid includes air defense missiles, munitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), Javelins and an array of other antiarmor missiles, counter-drone and counter-electronic warfare systems and equipment, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, vehicles and other equipment. GOP senators want to know who funds Pro-Palestinian protests, Biden Admin brushes off inquiry

By Jake Smith | Daily Caller The Biden administration brushed off a top GOP lawmaker’s request for information regarding organizations backing pro-Palestinian protests, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. Pro-Palestinian protests and riots have surged throughout the country for months, most recently at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chigaco this week. Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa and 15 other senators wrote to the IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel in May urging the agency to open an investigation into nonprofit organizations supporting certain pro-Palestinian groups and movements, and whether those organizations’ support jeopardized their tax-exempt status. (RELATED: Gov. Biden to DNC: Trump supporters ‘can’t think, can’t read very well’ in flashback to ‘Deplorables’

By Paul Bois | Breitbart President Joe Biden embraced divisive rhetoric during his speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Monday night when he said Trump supporters “can’t think, can’t read very well.” The president issued his insult, which echoes Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” line from 2016, when speaking about education. “How can we be the greatest nation in the world without the best education system in the world,” he said. “Donald Trump and Republican friends, they not only can’t think, they can’t read very well.” READ THE FULL STORY AT BREITBART

Trump: Under Harris, Biden ‘grocery price up 21.6%, rent up 22%, electricity up 31.7% ‘

By Jennifer Harper  | The Washington Times Former President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign is rolling out some compelling numbers when it comes to the U.S. economy. “Under President Trump, for the first time in 70 years, our nation achieved energy independence and was on the verge of global energy dominance. Under President Trump, the typical family of four was saving $2,500 a year in lower energy prices thanks to the shale oil and gas revolution alone,” the campaign said in a lengthy analysis released on Monday. “President Trump believes that by unleashing American energy, we can once again make American energy and electricity the most affordable and reliable in the world. Kamala Harris, on the other hand, wants to make life as difficult as possible for Americans. The pr...

Biden, Hillary Clinton to highlight first night of DNC speakers; ‘Squad’ member AOC to also speak

By BRIAN PORTER | Rocky Mountain Voice President Joe Biden will highlight the speakers on the opening night of the Democratic National Convention. He was expected to be the Democrats' nominee for president, until a month ago, when he abruptly announced his decision not to accept the nomination. Some have called it a political coup, removing the nominee for Vice President Kamala Harris, who did not go through the primary process. The Democratic National Convention in Chicago will be broadcast nightly from Aug. 19-22 on most major news networks. "[Biden] sees it as an important moment to talk directly, not just to the party, the Democratic Party and delegates, but also, obviously, to the American people," said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. The opening night o...
