RFK Jr Launches Major Push To Reduce Antidepressant Overprescribing

By Jon Brown | The Christian Post Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced a sweeping new initiative earlier this week to reduce what he characterized as the overprescription of antidepressant selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other psychotropic medications, especially for children. "Psychiatric medications have a role in care, but we will no longer treat them as the default," Kennedy said at a Monday summit on mental health and overmedicalization hosted by the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Institute in Washington, D.C. "We will treat them as one option, to be used when appropriate, with full transparency and with a clear path off when they are no longer needed." The plan being rolled out by HHS emphasiz...

From hunting to fitness: How MAHA unites unlikely allies in Colorado

By Gary Wockner | Commentary, The Colorado Sun Make America Healthy Again rings true to Coloradans across the political spectrum and can accelerate other conversations Amid the toxic partisan chaos dragging down the American political system, I’ve definitely moved toward the middle. Like me, the vast majority of Coloradans are registered to vote as “unaffiliated” with either party, and for whatever reason, likely hold values that are independent and varied, rather than strictly holding to one party’s line. It’s been fascinating to watch the growth of the “Make America Healthy Again” movement, or MAHA, nationally and here in Colorado, which seems to cross all over political boundaries as well. On Aug. 11, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal&nb...

RFK Jr’s MAHA Report exposes health crisis tied to food, meds, and mandates

By Amanda Prestigiacomo | Daily Wire Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday released the highly anticipated MAHA Commission report, detailing findings on potential causes of the epidemic of Americans, particularly children, fighting chronic illnesses.  The report, which is 68 pages long, details findings concerning ultra-processed foods, environmental toxins, stress, and the lack of physical activity, and reliance on medications and vaccines.  On nutrition, the report notes Americans’ reliance on ultra-processed foods, which it says leads to “nutrient depletion, increased caloric intake, and exposure to harmful additives.” The report found that 70% of children’s calories now come from ultra-processed foods, contributing to chronic con...

Colorado named least obese state in America

By Shawn Patrick | KYGO It seems like everyone is on weight loss medications like Ozempic and Wegovy these days, but around two in five American adults are still obese. Here in Colorado, we are doing much better, though! “U.S. News & World Report” has ranked the most obese states in the U.S., based on survey data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System. Overall, 39 states have obesity rates of 30 percent or more, and three are over 40 percent. READ THE FULL STORY AT KYGO

Trump teases ‘most consequential executive order in our country’s history’

By Tim Pearce | Daily Wire President Donald Trump said Sunday he will sign an executive order that will reduce the cost of pharmaceuticals “almost immediately by 30% to 80%.” Trump announced the move in a post on Truth Social. The order aims to bring “FAIRNESS TO AMERICA” by lowering drug costs in the United States while raising them throughout the rest of the world. “Therefore, I am pleased to announce that Tomorrow morning, in the White House, at 9:00 A.M., I will be signing one of the most consequential Executive Orders in our Country’s history,” Trump said. “I will be instituting a MOST FAVORED NATION’S POLICY whereby the United States will pay the same price as the Nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the World,” he said. “Our Country will finally be treated ...

RFK Jr. aide: MAHA Commission will ‘lay out why’ kids are sick, not policy

By Hagstrom Report| The Fence Post, Commentary Calley Means, a leader of the Make America Healthy Again Movement and a top aide to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., said Wednesday that the Make America Healthy Again Commission established by the White House “is not going to lay out policy, it is going to lay out why” American kids “are the sickest in the world.” Means made the statement at a Politico Health Summit at which he said the first job of the commission is “acknowledging the truth” and said after that it will be possible to establish a system that prevents and reverses disease. Means vigorously defended Kennedy and other HHS officials who have been subject to criticism. He also said Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins “is tied at the hip” with Kenne...

More than a hat: How Bernie Lake’s fight for health became a political battleground

By Jen Schumann | Contributing Writer, Rocky Mountain Voice After fighting a cancer battle, Bernie Lake reclaimed her life while sporting her Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) hat. After breast cancer surgery, she returned to the Durango Community Recreation Center for her first post-treatment workout, determined to rebuild her strength.  Lake had been wearing her MAHA hat since July. "After the first assassination attempt on Trump, I was outraged that our political differences had gotten to such a level," Lake said. "People need to see different political views where they live. I don’t care if you like Trump or not—we should be able to coexist." Silent disapproval was common. "Not one person had said a word to my face before. Plenty of snickers, plenty of side-eyes, but neve...

Ruehmann: How Trump, RFK Jr. and Colorado Republicans can MAHA and break Big Pharma’s grip

By James Ruehmann | Guest Commentary, Rocky Mountain Voice As Coloradans, we pride ourselves on independence, resilience and fairness. Yet, hardworking families across the state are being squeezed by a crisis that strikes at the heart of these values: the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs. While Washington debates solutions, the real answer lies in confronting the anti-competitive practices of Big Pharma that exploit loopholes, manipulate patents and stifle competition. President Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and newly elected Colorado Republicans have a historic opportunity to champion reforms that prioritize patients over profits — starting with dismantling Big Pharma’s monopolistic playbook. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., recently confirmed to lead the Department of Health and Hu...

U.S. Army allowed 1,181 recruits who didn’t meet standards to train

By Wallace White | Daily Caller The U.S. Army is breaking with its own fitness standards on body fat percentage to gain more recruits, a report from the Department of Defense (DOD) Inspector General found Feb. 18. The Army Future Soldier Preparatory Course, established by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASA[M&RA]), gives recruits who do not meet base fitness standards 90 days to fall in line, and allows individuals who are as much as 8% above the required body fat percentage — 26% for men and 36% for women — to enlist. However, the DOD Investigator General found that 14% of 1,181 trainees at the Army Training Center and Fort Jackson (ATC&FJ) between February and May 2024 exceeded these expanded limits. “Aggravating the issue with the l...
